It's hard to find a decent hotel for a good price within a few blocks from the beach, but Brisa Pacifica does this. Is it a luxury hotel? No, but it's a clean, comfy room with a mini fridge and microwave, comfy lounge chair, solid desk, decent wifi; and the funky Leucadia/old town Encinitas vibe to boot, with many restaurants within walking distance. This was my second trip there and I shall be back! Warning to smokers: Their anti-smoking policy is strongly enforced, and they will lock you out of your room if you disobey (I watched them do this), so don't even think about it!

This is our third stay here and it’s a perfect place if you need to spend some time in Encinitas. Tons of restaurants within walking distance and a short walk to the beach. The rooms have always been clean and staff friendly.

Strengths: Our room was clean. The air conditioner worked great. The shower water was nice & hot. Great location. Shops easy to get to. Nice area for taking walks. Weaknesses: Poor lighting in the room. Bigger and more lights needed. NO ELEVATOR, which made carrying my 60 pound suitcase up to my room on the second floor a challenge. Mini frig not cold enough, despite turning the dial to the coolest setting. Bathroom door would not stay open; I used a crumbled up paper cup as a doorstop. NO CLOSET and no hangers! There were only 3 hooks on the wall.
