“Placerville is an adorable historic gold mining town with a lovely main street with lots of cute shops and restaurants. The historic Cape Hotel looks exactly like it did 150 years ago in all of its old photos. It is like stepping back in time. It has the second oldest working elevator west of the Mississippi. “The property was in a secluded area that had a very rural feel to it. The grounds were beautiful and the cabin we stayed in was very comfortable. We were greeted by the caretaker, Patricia, and she was very informative and full of information about the property and surrounding areas. Also, met the owner, and he was very friendly and welcoming. Would definitely stay there again.”

“While the property was clean, when we arrived and checked into the room, our room was so hot, you’d think, since they knew they were having people stay in this room, they’d turn on the air, but no. We had to turn on the air and leave for awhile. Thankfully, it cooled, but not a great start. And if your a person, like myself and my family, we don’t like to wake up to a bright room- the curtains were so thin, the room was so bright, we couldn’t sleep. So, definitely will not be returning.”
