The staff was very friendly and the hotel is quite charming with history. Typical of Fairmont hotels. A great hotel for spoiling or treating others. I agree with the over all rating of the other hotel reviews of it. Recommend to stay at if interested in staying at. Just remember it is an old hotel of 1915 and has been updated since then.

We stayed at the Fairmont Hotel Macdonald in Edmonton for two nights and had a really nice stay. The staff were welcoming and helpful, and gave us plenty of information to help us get around and make the most of our time in the city. The hotel was undergoing some renovations and construction during our stay, so a few areas and entrances were closed off, but it didn’t take away too much from the overall experience. We used the pool, sauna, and steam room daily, which was a great way to unwind. One of my favourite parts of the hotel was the beautiful outdoor patio and gardens overlooking the river. It’s such a peaceful and scenic spot, especially in the summer. The location was also excellent. We walked to several areas of downtown and had some great restaurants and cafés within easy reach of the hotel. Overall, it was a lovely stay and a great home base for exploring Edmonton.

Beautiful hotel, located in a historic building, combining traditional look and feel with modern amenities. Exceptionally well maintained, luxurious interior, with great attention to detail. Fantastic staff, courteous, attentive. Labrador Hendrix is the best VP of Guest Relations! I only wish food and drinks were more reasonably priced. Paying $8 for a cup of tea made with a prepackaged teabag or $40 for a hamburger is absurd.
