This was the perfect hotel as it was close to a train station literally 3 min walk from the hotel and the train would get you to the centre of Edinburgh. The room was amazing, so was the staff and tge food was delicious!

The transportation (train and bus) into the city centre was close by and affordable. The beds were very comfortable and the attached restaurant had good food and friendly staff. I would definitely recommend this facility to others.

The check-in process was easy and headache free. The breakfast/ kitchen team were kind and helpful. Note that breakfast closes 30 min earlier on weekdays vs weekends (1030 vs 11). The room itself was spacious with clean linens. No mini fridge or way to call front desk though. No outlets in the bathrooms, you have to blow dry your hair in the main room and the dryer is fused into the wall. The light next to the mirror was not operational. The HDMI outlets did not work next to the TV. In room carpet has seen better days as has the peeling moulding at the base of the tub. Great location for getting into the city. Check out was cold. The staff member at the desk literally did not acknowledge our existence, it was really unfriendly. Zero warmth. No baseline “thanks for staying with us”, which is a bummer when you’re travelling with little kids and trying to teach them manners. The interaction (or lack thereof) was so off-putting that we wouldn’t stay there again.

On our first day, our room was not cleaned at all. On the second day, the cleaning staff only changed the sheets and left towels, but did not clean the bathroom - the trash bin was not emptied and there was trash on the floor. Our used tea cups and mugs were also not changed. When we raised this at the front desk, one staff member told us we could send an email to complain, but we were never given any further information on how to do so. Another staff member simply said that detailed cleaning is not typically done. On the third day, our room was finally cleaned properly.We also experienced ongoing issues with breakfast service. It appears only one staff member is handling the entire breakfast area, so items run out frequently. We had to wait a long time just to have hot items, juice, and granola refilled. Given that this is meant to be a comfortable stay, we were disappointed by these lapses in basic housekeeping and breakfast service. I wanted to bring this to your attention directly, and I hope it can be helpful feedback for improving the experience for future guests as well. Thanks

Die Zimmer sind großzügig geschnitten und sauber. Das Personal ist unglaublich freundlich und sehr hilfsbereit. Beim Frühstück kann zwischen warmenspeißen, die frisch zubereitet werden und und einer ausreichenden Auswahl an Müsli, Toast, Joghurt oder Gebäckstücken gewählt werden. Das Hotel liegt ganz in der nähe einer Bahnstation. In 10 Minuten ist man in Edinburgh. Die Umgebung selbst bietet eine große Auswahl an Geschäften und Gastronomie. Direkt am Hotel ist ein gemütlicher Pub.
