This review is in no way a slight against the staff, they were very friendly and helpful. However… There was mold and mildew in the bathroom, the light and fan in the bathroom didn’t work, there was almost no water pressure and there were soft spots in the floor. The whole room was unfortunately quite run down and for over $600 for 2 nights, that’s just unacceptable.

Very dated overall but just about clean enough, but our bathroom was very old, dated, mouldy tiles and silicone around bath has come away and mouldy. The shower attachment was broken and when reported was partcially fixed with tape. Rusty bin and chrome fittings. No where in bathroom to hang towels. Good location and very quiet were the main plus

Very good value for money, staff are wonderful, rooms very clean, reception manned 24 hours. Tunnocks wafers left as a welcome for guests! Yes, the decor is rather tired and all needs an upgrade but that would entail a big increase in price. This was my third time staying here and I love it, quirks and all!

I stayed two evenings, once on the front of my trip and again before leaving Edinburgh. The first time, the front desk staff was truly amazing and helpful. It's quiet pretty much and private. My room was spacious and quaintly decorated. If you have to lug a suitcase and don't like stairs, request a ground floor room. The second time staying, the young man and young lady were awesome and helped me with my suitcase up those stairs. When I CKed out early the next morning, a twenty-something couldn't be bothered to lift his eyes from his phone to speak. He never made eye contact as I turned in the key and said thank you. That's typical for that age I suppose but you are on the job so act a bit more professional.

Beautiful location that was close to many things or within walking distance. The staff was very nice and helpful. The room was clean and cute. The bathroom was a bit rundown and could use a face lift and the water pressure not great. But, overall, we enjoyed our stay and would definitely book a room with Eliza House in the future!

We loved that the location was only a two minute walk from the tram/train station in Haymarket. Staff was kind and room was very clean. Quiet location. Old building so the walk to our room was a bit of a maze but we chuckled about it. Would stay again.

This is a convenient option for any visits to Edinburgh. The location next to the Haymarket station is perfect -- easily accessible by train and the airport buses. The hotel itself is a cute old building. I never managed to get hot water in my shower, but other than that I loved it.

Great value, slightly quirky hotel

Great value slightly quirky but It's the cheapest hotel in the area. Yes it could do with a lick of paint and bathrooms need an upgrade but it's clean. Best part is the manned reception with friendly helpful staff and real keys - no faffing with cards and codes. This was my 2nd stay, hope to be back again next year

Great place to stay, not too far from the main tourist areas so you can easily walk, parking is expensive but it is everywhere in Edinburgh, the staff were nice and helpful and the rooms are a great size
