Disliked: Check-in, communication, listing accuracy
I had booked this accommodation based on what I saw on the web page. I was severely disappointed. Upon arrival we had great difficulty in finding the property and only by chance a passer by told us to check in at the hotel down the road. I had booked the royal suite but found that this is up 4 steep flights of stairs with no handrail and no elevator. We are in our 70s so this information could have been communicated clearly in the ad. Although we are very fit there was no way we could manage these stairs with suitcases. If travelling with young children there is no door between the top of the first staircase and the suite. We asked for a room change and although fully booked we managed to get apartment #3. This is much smaller but easier access with no offer of reduction. The A/C was totally ineffective and obviously poorly maintained. The room was several degrees warmer than the stairwell. We had to run a very loud fan continuously in an attempt to reduce the heat. The unit was adequately clean and well positioned inside the old town. We accept that within the old walls you will have authentic accomodation but it's limitations should be clearly defined so you know what you are getting.
