“I would never stay here again. It’s beautiful yet totally impractical for guests. There is a “no shoes allowed” policy meaning I slipped as I carried my bags up multiple flights of stairs in socks, no air conditioning & no actual shower (just a large bath with hand-held shower handle). I think the owners have severely misjudged what the average guest wants. I paid about the same the week before nearby at the Premier Inn for all the amenities I wanted in a better location. I’ll be staying there...

“Room had stains on the wall. Overall hotel need’s updating. Staff friendly but chef stressed as no one was checking on breakfast items that kept running out! Dinner was lovely though…. Sticky toffee pudding to die for. Stay was ok for the price and it was the second time we have stayed. So obviously not too bad.”

“Small clean well appointed room in outbuilding. Large free car park. Good WiFi. Friendly helpful staff. No food available on sight.”

“The property was in a fairytale house in a magical location. All the little extra touches - such as bathrobes and slippers. daily complimentary water, chocolate etc - were truly the icing on the cake. The staff showed a real pride in working at the Castle and truly helped to set the atmosphere. Check-in and out were brilliant. The restaurant was superb with a jaw-dropping view of the Castle and sumptuous breakfast. If you think I seem enthusiastic it is because I am!”

“The staff were very helpful, going above the call of duty.Breakfast was cooked well and according to ones taste. The shower was clean and good. Parking is off road and was easily available.On one occasion we had to park in paid parking just round the corner, which is plentiful. The building is well maintained. Communication was good”

“This accommodation is excellent. It is a converted boat which was built in 1839 and used as a floating lighthouse off the east coast of England. The owners are polite and helpful and are on site.”
