The location was very good—right next to the Plaza de Armas. Breakfast was yummy and the water was hot. The room we stayed in didn’t have any windows but the skylights. It felt a little like staying in a cave. I didn’t love that vibe but my friend did. The front desk employees were very kind and helpful! We had a good stay and I would stay again if I ever went back to Cusco!

We had a very pleasant and convenient stay at Casona Plaza Hotel Cusco and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Cusco. The location is excellent—very close to the central Plaza de Armas, making it easy to walk to restaurants, shops, and key attractions in the city. It is also very accessible from the airport, which made our arrival and departure smooth and hassle-free. What truly stood out was the staff’s exceptional helpfulness and hospitality. They kindly allowed us early check-in, which was a huge relief after our journey and helped us settle in comfortably right away. They were always willing to assist with anything we needed and showed genuine care throughout our stay. A particularly thoughtful gesture was that they safely stored our luggage free of charge for 5 days while we were on our trek. Since we left before breakfast time everyday, they also checked in with us to ask if we would like a lunch box prepared for the day. This level of attention and consideration made a big difference and showed how much they care about their guests’ comfort. Overall, a highly recommended hotel for its good location, smooth access, and warm, attentive service.

Decent Stay

This is as a good hotel for our two nights there. The bed was comfortable, room was clean and spacious and very quiet at all hours. The front desk upgraded us to a king bed room for no additional charge and the staff were friendly and accommodating. Conveniently located to the main square, shops and restaurants. The only downsides were intermittent water pressure and temperatures in the shower and the breakfast needs help. Terrible coffee.

For the price it was a good option especially when you spend most of your time out on adventures. The hotel is very clean staff was helpful and welcoming. Breakfast is included, but I do wish they had a bit more protein available. Depending on the time you head down they can run out of things and not add anymore even though there’s still an hour of breakfast time left. Two things that I really had trouble with. One is out of their reach- the guests at the bar down the street can party through the night. Although it’s not vivid and loud you can still hear people & music through most of night. One change I would recommend is adding some blackout curtains to the ceiling windows. It was very bright by 5am so it was difficult to keep kids asleep past that 🙈

Reasonable price but cold and noisy rooms

The location is great, close to everything. The problem was that when people make noise in the corridor, I easily could hear that specifically during the night. Rooms are cold during winter, even with a heater if the size of the room is big, it takes forever to warm up the room.

The building looks very nice, the rooms and bathrooms are clean, the staff is friendly and they were able to accommodate our request for an early departure and provided an adequate bag breakfast. However, the rooms have absolutely no soundproofing. The door didn't close square to the doorframe and the window looked out onto a hallway with a light on until quite late without a room darkening curtain. This resulted in a bright and loud bedroom space and made it extremely difficult to sleep. Many guests left very early (before 3am) so it was very noisy almost all night long. They also had lost the 2nd key for our room which resulted in a delayed check in and we were ultimately required to leave our key at the front desk, which was a minor annoyance but added to the overall lackluster experience.

This hotel was your standard 3-Star accommodation. After staying in Lima for a few days prior my expectation was really high. However this hotel was a bit of a let down. **Cons: * Pretty small space for three guests, * Ants in the bathroom, * Cold room - With only one mid-sized space heater, the room remained cold most of the time. Although we weren't in the room too much due to our packed schedule; it was pretty uncomfortable at night, b/c it was cold outside - Sigh, * The breakfast was pretty one note.. It was good in that it filled our bellies before embarking on our scheduled tours, however nothing fancy. **Pros: *Location, location, location... Guests are literally feet away from the city center, which is one of the main reasons why I booked it, * The staff was awesome.. They were all professional, kind, helpful, & friendly: Royer, Sebastian, Luz, Kevin, & Rosa!!! After being away all day (touring) it felt good to return to such a great staff! Overall... If the listed cons aren't deal breakers for you then I highly recommend this hotel. However, if you're more like me, & prefer to have central air / heat, & not to share your bathroom with ants then by all means book some place different.

The Casona plaza hotel is in a convenient location a couple blocks from Plaza de Armas, close to main attractions, tours and lots of restaurants. The room was fine…nothing special but clean and comfortable. They stored our luggage while we went to Machu Picchu. The only downside was the street in front is very narrow. On one occasion our driver couldn’t get to the hotel and we had to walk maybe 100 meters. No problem except for the light rain. Staff was friendly and helpful and breakfast was pretty good.
