“Food was exceptionally good with great choice. Staff pleasant and helpful.”

“Food was good. Luxury room was not luxurious. Very small. Carpets on stairs need seeing to as are a trip hazard. Bar area, windows need a very good clean! Cobwebs and dust must have been there quite a while.”

“Staff very welcoming. Food really nice and very filling. Perfect stay for us. Thankyou”

“We had an amazing stay at the hotel! The room was beautiful and the food there was amazing!!”

“Lovely place. This is a rustic place in the middle of nowhere and is fantastic! Worth all the travel. Staff were amazing. Food was superb. I had the giant Yorkshire pudding with beef bourginon. My room was lovely and the bed comfortable. A very welcoming place even for a single traveller like me. I’m definitely going back at some point! Brilliant”

“The reason I haven’t scored 5 is that Expedia sold us a room that had issues with noise / cooking smells as it’s above the kitchen and is noisey and smelly when the staff are cooking. We stayed in a room named Helvellyn and Expedia didn’t state any issues with any rooms. I think Expedia have been misleading not detailing the facts about that particular...

“Clean room fantastic refurbished rooms with great staff and a proper English breakfast”

“Staff were very friendly and helpful, comfy bed, lovely hot powerful shower! Great food and beer, really enjoyed my stay!”

“Room wasn't great for the cost (was pretty small, but is limited because of the type of building), however the bathroom looked like it had recently been refurbished, and the room was clean. Breakfast was excellent, and the staff were very helpful.”

“Great old English inn. Very friendly staff, good food and beers. Room was very comfortable and breakfast was excellent.”
