We've stayed in a few 4/5 star hotels and we know that those ratings don't mean a lot but my observations: - Best shower I've ever used by a long shot, and genuinely very clean. - Huge bed, like huge huge - Lots of space etc Now the weird: - pillows were just full of lumps of stuffing, basically the worst pillow I've ever slept on - the bed made up for our 5 y/o son was on a pull out sofa (no probs, they always are) the problem was instead of a duvet / bed sheet, the blanket was a plushy throw & honestly I wasn't convinced it wasn't the sofa throw - had it even been washed. We didn't raise this with the staff as we all just slept in the main bed in the end. - Net curtains were basically disgusting, I think one of the stains was from vomit. How bizarre, it was like genuine luxury mixed with random bits of travel lodge type shenanigans.

What a great place to stay! Luxury vibe at an affordable price. The room was clean, stylish, comfortable, quiet, and had everything necessary for an extended stay- full kitchen, table and chairs, quality bedding and towels. The location was perfect for our needs and we felt comfortable walking back after dark in the neighborhood.

Really good hotel with central location. Sofa bed hadn’t been made up on arrival but reception staff couldn’t have been nicer and made sure it was sorted. Only complaint can hear water running think must be from above room when having shower so was woken up at 8am and heard again about midnight both times for about 30 mins. Would def stay again, breakfast was lovely and staff friendly and helpful

Staff members are mostly kind, friendly and helpful. There were two gals that seemed more interested in their phones and each other than guests, not at all what I’m used to in Glasgow, but honestly the rest of the staff more than compensated. The rooms could be enhanced with a mini fridge and/or a hairdryer but I think this is normal for the basic hotels in Scotland . I loved the idea of a free bevy if you choose not to have room service, but if two guests are staying, it would be nice to have free bevy’s for both. The room was clean though and provided the essentials so I guess that’s what I paid for and I realize accommodation in Scotland is very pricey, so I’m sure this hotel is as good as any other in this price range.

Strange check in,with the guy at reception not offering any information about the hotel or even directions to the lift. He didn’t seem remotely interested. Hotel room was huge, but had a slightly odd odour. Bathroom was big too & towels were top quality. Hotel itself is a bit run down but it was adequate for our stay and in a very convenient location for the train station etc. We didn’t eat or drink in the hotel.
