The building is very unique, it seems like there is a library attached to the side. My room was excellent and had a good air conditioning system, this was essential as I visited during a heat wave. The staff was friendly; what truly stood out was the breakfast in the morning. Excellent value for money, I would recommend this hotel as good value for the price

The hotel is a 5 to 10 minute walk from the main railway station. The staff are extremely helpful, polite and professional. The rooms are very clean and there is a restaurant on the premises that serves breakfast should you decide to include it. The city centre is also a 5 to 10 minute walk to the Cathedral Square. Highly recommended,

the rooms were nice and clean. i was disappointed with breakfast. they were not refilled at 9 so was not able to tell what was offered , several platters were empty. we hang around for about 15-20 mins hoping someone will bring out new platters but they didn’t.

I had a wonderful 1-night stay at the Maternushaus. The location was perfect, within walking distance from the Cologne main train station (Köln Hauptbahnhof). The facility was very clean, and, while not fancy by any means, it had all that I needed: a very clean single room with private bathroom and a comfortable bed, TV, several electric outlets, good WiFi, etc. The included breakfast was excellent, and there's also a free drinking water station. The staff was very kind and helpful. Above all, I was very thankful for an onsite chapel with 24x7 perpetual Adoration.
