We are experienced, easygoing world travelers. After reading several mixed reviews, we were hesitant, but thankfully we trusted our instincts and decided to stay here anyway. It turned out to be a great stay for a couple, with excellent access to Yosemite National Park and lovely mountain views. The room had everything we needed for a comfortable night's sleep: good AC, a TV, a quiet mini-fridge, and a microwave - perfect unless you're set on staying right inside Yosemite Valley. Plus, I really loved the bed!

We stayed here 4 days in June. The room was cleaned each day, it always smelled nice, and the trash was emptied. The shower was good. The tv and internet worked well. At the end of our stay she even offered to do our laundry. I would definitely recommend this place.

Blackhawk is a great place to stay if you don't need amenities like a pool, clubhouse or other on-site luxuries. Clean towels everyday although no hand towels. AC is great in summer. Friendly staff. Will come again when we come back to visit our daughter and son in law.

It was sanitary, no bedbugs, dirty sheets, or hair in the shower. However, I almost canceled my reservation based on lobby appearance and smell, smelled like dead fish and looked like a criminal front in the lobby. Someone definitely cleaned some fish in there and had not cleaned up, very foul. There were No desks, cash registers, tables, it was just piled up cardboard boxes and trash. So weird. Actual Room was painted 1 homogenous color, painted straight into the baseboards, bathroom mirror and outlet covers, everything looked 30 years and there was an old/stale odor. I booked online and was caught off-guard by the condition when we pulled up late, too late to change or drive on after a long day in Yosemite. Outside appearance tells the story, safe to judge this book by the cover. But it was clean. Wouldn’t go back.

Staff was very friendly but property is being renovated so our room was located way in the back and it must not have been occupied for a while since there were cobwebs in the room. But it was very quiet. Scary because of the location of our room and walkway was not lit nor were there any outside lights on. We arrived to sleep there after dark so it was hard to walk up the ramp to the room. Beds were too hard for my liking. But they are trying to renovate the property so at least they are trying to make conditions better. Rooms were not dirty but they were dusty and cobwebby.

The hotel is outdated and a bit run down. The lobby is a very stuff room, that had a cat and smelled like cats. The check in lady was nice. We dropped our things and went to the casino, we didn’t
