My pup and I were warmly welcomed. We had a lakeside room and it was perfect! The sunset was spectacular over the water and the window allowed the room to fill with a gorgeous pink hue. Would stay again!

The lake views and little beach were perfect during sunset. Staff was super friendly. The room was cute but a little dated. The faucets could use a bit of an upgrade and although we had a big tub in the room it took forever to fill. The four poster bed looked good but when you lean on it I was worried it was going to break. But all that said it was magical random night where I needed a place last minute. Just about an 8 minute drive into town go eat at Taqueria Jalos - it's awesome. I would stay here again.

Overall, not bad. The in-room spa is very comfortable. The area could be more windy compared to the area's average. One issue is, there is a resort fee, not included in the room fee. Can't believe a motel-style place need a resort fee?

Honestly not bad for Lake County. Bed's were OK, place was clean with a full kitchen. My issues were I asked about coffee and they said it was in the room. Great. It was all decaf. Totally unacceptable for me I need my coffee in the morning so that brought down the stars considerably. Also not very kosher about checking in early made me wait right until check in time which is uncommon at almost every hotel I've ever been to. Not a big deal though, just don't expect an early check in. Also like $80 an hour for a kayak rental. That's crazy and the place right across the lake does $25 an hour. Much more reasonable for a kayak. Still, I grew up in Lake County and the lodge is a LOT better than it used to be at least as far as the room go.

The lake is pretty, the water refreshing, that's the best I can tell you of our short stay. The list of disappointment is quite lengthy. I will never go there again or recommend it to any of my family or friends. The staff is entitled, unwelcoming, and rude. The girl they hired to clean the room did a good job changing the beds and wiping surfaces. The floors were Sandy and gritty. I guess no time to vacuum or sweep. The property is poorly maintained. The rental boats poorly maintained. There is no longer a restaurant as previously mentioned, but it is a short drive into town to excellent food. The restaurant at the Tallman Hotel in town excellent! the pizza at The Boathouse Bar and Grill in town best I've had in years.

I was verbally assaulted by a very overweight boy in a Vikings jersey when I checked in at 9pm because I “woke him up” (he was on the clock, but on call in his room). He also charged me for the room, $140, even though I already paid for it online on Expedia app. Very shady place, would advise everyone to avoid.

The property by the lake was beautiful. They let us use the facilities after check-out, which we really appreciated. The staff member was very kind and welcoming. The place was clean, there was ice available, and they provided us with hot water. The only downside was the beds. Our room had two beds, and both of them were very noisy. It was quite uncomfortable to sleep because every time you moved or turned over, the beds squeaked loudly. I would recommend replacing the beds, as they were both uncomfortable and noisy.

Front desk attendant hardly looked up when we checked in. Seemed completely out of it. We were warned, if our room “ was dirty, don’t blame me yell at the other guy with a beard.” so this already had us feeling apprehensive about checking into the room. Lo and behold the room was filthy. The sheets were covered in long hairs like the beds had been slept in. The floors had not been swept. There were bugs everywhere. Bathrooms gross. We immediately went back to the front desk and asked if we could have a different room and the gentleman told us that they did not have any as there was no maid and that room had already been specifically “cleaned” in order for us to check in that day. It seemed like the maintenance guy came out to change our sheets and when we went back to the room, it definitely was in better condition. … the blinds were broken as well as the TV. The property is absolutely beautiful and we were so happy to enjoy the lake. I have never left a bad review in my life, but the lack of customer service and complete carelessness of the front desk staff left me feeling so disappointed that I had spent over $200 for a single night in one of the most nightmare hotel rooms I’ve ever seen. If there had been any communication or care at all I could have been understanding but the guy shrugged us off like our check in was an inconvenience itself. Worst experience. It’s really a shame because we were so looking forward to it.

the place is very outdated. and the pictures online are not close to the reality. we asked in family could come and visualize the place to see if worth buying a day pass to the lake from the property. Staff member said the owner charges 32 a person period check out the property or stay the day. the rooms smelt moldy and amenities were poor. the eating hall is nonexistent. Pure deception and at 250 a night for weekdays is a huge rip off.

Everything here is in disrepair, filthy and staff (2 people as far as I could tell) is awful. Everything is stained, covered in bird poop or broken. Every picture on there website or any other hotel site is from at least 20 years ago if not longer. Run down and a scam

Our Room was perfect. We stayed a couple nights and days. It was quiet. The Blue Lakes were beautiful. We rested very well. Upper Lake was only 5 miles out so we could go get a bite, or the little grocery store was handy The grounds were beautiful. There were paddle boards, kayaks, pedal power water bikes, & pontoon boats for rent. Too bad the swiming pool wasn't up and running. Or bed was super comfy. There's BBQ'S, WE FISHED, There are some nice bass in this lake too. Pet friendly, TV, microwave & small fridge and dining table. The lake was gorgeous. Miss Barbara runs the Lodge for new owners. I loved her! Tough on people trying big to act a fool. Warm, wonderful & accommodating. She will be an invaluable asset to the Lodge at Blue Lakes. Thank you, Miss Barbara and your friendly and hard working crew!!!! We are looking forward to coming back, sooner than later!!!!

This place is horrible now. They charge for everything when it comes to amenities - Im surprised AC was not put on my bill. Ridiculous! Hot tub was broken, TV didn't work, $10 for two hours of PROPANE, electric boats dying in the middle of the lake (TWO DAYS in row) battery NOT charged fully - but the audacity to still be rented out.....and NO REFUNDS OR COMPENSATIONS. Definitely wont be back.

Was traveling for work and wanted a hotel option that was out of the city and I found this gem. Waking up the lake every morning was wonderful and then closing the day watching the sunset at the lake was also beautiful. The staff was helpful, it was clean, and it was quiet.
