There are so many things we loved about this place, location, breakfast amenities, the rooms were clean and of course the ponies on the property. We would definitely stay here again.

Very nice close to the wildlife reserve. Weather was bad when we arrived but could see the ponies from the room which was nice. Close to all restaurants and hangouts which was a bonus.

What is unique about the property and management is that the Refuge truly cares about customer relationships. The staff is top-notch and super helpful and delightful, the room and amenties far exceed any experience we've had at other establishments on Chincoteague Island. We will always stay at the Refuge going forward. Enjoy as we have!!! Best value for customer service and accomodations on the Island.

What a wonderful stay. The room was very clean and had a lovely view of the pool. Check in was very easy and we called morning of to extend our stay a few hours at the residence and it was simple. The pool and hot tub areas were lovely and not crowded at all. My son, especially loved, going up to the observation deck and looking out at the marsh. The horses on the property were such a lovely additional bonus. We will absolutely be returning to the Refuge Inn

Staff was accommodating, when flood waters trapped us on the island, staff provided complimentary lunch and dinner. After a long day of hiking, the heated pool and hot tub were đź‘Ś perfect. We will come back next year. I hear around Christmas the island turns into a hallmark movie.

The Refuge Inn is truly a hidden gem. From the check-in to the amenities and the ponies on the property, our stay was marvelous. The rooms were extremely clean, well maintained, and comfortable. Breakfast (that is delivered right to your room at a time of your choosing) was great as well; plenty of options. The amenities (pool, hot tub, fitness room, etc.) were in fantastic condition. And of course, the gorgeous horses on the property made for an extra-special stay. I would highly recommend to all travelers!

We had a lovely, large room with a very comfortable bed, small table for breakfast, excellent coffee available just outside the lobby, and a nice balcony. The pool was lovely and there were lounge chairs and towels, as well as a shower to rinse off in before swimming. In addition, having the proximity to the Chincoteague National Refuge and easy driving to local restaurants and downtown were pluses. The Refuge Inn has a small-town, family feeling with all the amenities you could ask for.

This is a beautiful boutique hotel. So charming and clean!! Loved the staff, the upper deck, the gift shop and the cute homemade breakfast delivered to our door. It was close to Assateague Island as well. I cannot recommend a place to stay on Chincoteague more!

We ran our AC from the time we got there Friday around 4pm until we left Sunday morning and couldn’t tell a difference at all. It was very warm in the room. Wasn’t able to enjoy the outdoor seating area out side our room because of so many mosquitoes. The pool and hot tub were great. The breakfast was “ok”. It was nice that they brought it to the room. Likes going out to visit with the horses. We were on the first floor and very noisy, heavy footed upstairs neighbors. Might want to install different flooring for the second floor so it’s not so loud. All in all a nice get away.

Stuff is friendly and welcomed. Our room was clean and nice bed. Breakfast was good. We love the pool and hottub. Location is great. There are local shops, museums. And alot of great restaurants to eat at. Your right by the state park entrance. We will definitely would go back.
