Ww wanted an authentic castle stay and that's exactly what it is. Staff were wonderful, bar and restaurant were superb. Castle steeped in history and very comfortable with plenty of lounge areas. Room was spacious and comfortable and we couldn't have enjoyed our stay any.more!

Loved the location, the history, the food and the staff. The only thing I would fix is cobwebs and dust in harder to reach picture frames and such. And I would have loved using the spiral staircases (not for use by guests unless there is an emergency). Loved this place and hope to go back some day,

Easy 20 minute walk from station. Beautiful property..grounds very well maintained. We were upgraded to a suite ..simply stunning . Staff were friendly . Only negative restaurant was underwhelming..a little disappointing tables very close to others was expecting something more medieval.. Food was average . Scone in the library lovely but it was served cold ! I would definitely recommend you you stay a night a l9cely experience

True castle atmosphere. There was a college prom going on the night we arrived which added to the fun. We enjoyed a meal in the dinning room. Excellent food and service. Room was a little stuffy but we were able to open a window. Would definitely stay again.

Great building. Lovely room. Eat in the restaurant and the steak was really over cooked. I really should have sent it back. We had breakfast the following day - full English. The fried egg was hard and the field mushroom was very over-done

A very unique place to stay. The staff were so friendly and helpful, I couldn’t praise them enough, especially the breakfast staff and the Library bar staff. They were always smiling and happy to chat. We stayed in a courtyard superior room that was very big with a very large and comfortable bed. We were on the ground floor and were able to park our car by the room each day. The stairs and floor in the bedroom above us were very creaky but it’s to be expected with the age of the property. Breakfast had lots of choices and was very enjoyable. We ate in the Library Bar most evenings and the food was amazing! The outdoor terrace was a lovely place to sit in the evenings. The castle itself was stunning with lots of original features. I would highly recommend it and hope to visit again.
