Nice well kept little motel in Chester. Shower has been redone in tile. Very clean room.. descent bed. Stayed three nights while fishing Tiber Reservoir. Owners helped out when I forgot an extension cord. No late eating options in Chester so we drove over to Inverness to the Bar/Supper club there. MX is great place to stay.

Hidden gem

We stayed 1 night in this tiny town. MX Motel is accurately described. It was a small room. The bed was comfortable. The A/C unit was fabulous for a hot summer night. The bathroom was clean. The check-in is at the convenience store, which is between the rooms and the highway. It is about 2.5 hours from Glacier National Park. Thank you a comfortable place to stay.

Clean and serve ice cream

We are bicycling across the country and mostly camping yet it was in 90s so selected the MX. Clean room check, AC worked check and they serve ice cream and sell beer double check! You get free cappuccinos from the machine in the morning. Walking distance to restaurants.

I was very pleased with my stay at the MX Motel in Chester, MT. It exceeded most of my expectations for a small-town motel. The room was compact, but very clean. The a/c and the TV both worked and the bathroom had a newly remodeled shower. The bed was comfy. What else can a person expect?

Not Good If You Get Older Rooms

The MX has some new rooms, but we got stuck with two older (and dirtier) rooms. One room had big chunks of dirt in the shower and inconsistent hot water. The other room had a toilet chain that failed as the highly engineered safety pin at the end of the chain broke. The hotels.com confirmation was for the newer rooms, but we got stuck with these two less than desireable rooms.

I didn’t like having to walk up a flight of outside steps in the rain, dragging our luggage. Staff was helpful. Tiny quarters, but did as a last resort room. Didn’t like it.
