Very friendly staff, lovely food and clean comfortable rooms. The carpark is small and can hold 4-5 cars at most and entry is via Station Street to the rear of the hotel. Loads of history on the wall of the pub and nothing too much trouble for the hosts. Would definitely stay there again.
Great staff, and service - Anne was very welcoming and courteous....as were all ghe Bar Staff. The building is 13th century and lovely and quirky....though the stairs may be difficult to navigate for young or elderly
I stay here at least once a year and it's always a great experience with friendly staff and customers. This time I got the room with the four-poster bed but with a very modern touch: a bathroom mirror with Bluetooth speakers!
Very friendly place, food was of high standard,
Lots of options available.
Room was clean and comfortable, excellent service from staff. Frozen cocktails are amazing!!
Reception on arrival was excellent and everything explained well. Room was very spacious and comfortable with free tea/coffee and bottles of water available. Breakfast was also very good.
We were on a 3 week tour of England researching our family roots and history. We were purposely looking for stays in smaller villages/towns. This fit the bill perfectly. Our bedroom was comfortable, the shower hot and the food delicious. The staff couldn’t have been nicer - my wife even felt like maybe we had found long lost family.
The hosts and staff were very helpful, friendly, could not do enough for us. Lovely quirky place with loads of history. Our room was well presented, comfortable and well stocked with tea, coffee, biscuits and bottled water beside bed. Breakfast was first class. Lovely place to stay A
A wonderful hotel, great atmosphere, and staff are very friendly. Great breakfast, four poster bed extremely comfortable and room is lovely. Only downside is the shower, more a trickle. Will return when visiting family..
Beautiful very old building - 14th century with loads of character. My room was very clean with comfortable bed. Some of the furnishings were dated but it was in keeping with the style of the property.
The staff were very friendly and professional and could not fault any of the staff at all.
Would strongly recommend this hotel.
A business trip where simple comforts are 'a must'. Great atmosphere in the very comfortable bar. Food is superb.
The bed is very comfortable ..... I'll be back !!
An amazing, character filled hotel with great food
I love this place. The hotel rooms are clean, comfy beds and nice bathrooms. The food is lovely (recommend the Stilton mushrooms) and the bar is well stocked and cosy. The staff and management were helpful and it seemed enjoyed the atmosphere. The whole place is filled with interesting antiques and bits of furniture. So much character. Give me this over a nameless boring chain hotel every time.
Thank you David and team at Cross Keys Chatteris. I’ll be back for sure.
The best qualities of pub accommodation: upstairs from the bar & dining room, friendly and personalized service. BUT -- more than one expects from a traditional pub: the room was large (think the size of American hotel room) and plumbing was updated modern.
Clean, affordable, personable -- everything one wants in a stay. (Will be my first choice when I return to the area!)

A friendly pub with atmosphere
Really friendly staff, good food, quirky and atmospheric room as the pub dates back to 1560s. Bathroom dated but good water pressure and temperature on shower and clean. Caution if you have movement problems- the stairs are steep! Would stay again.

Friendly Host and staff. Clean, and food excellent. Nothing was too much trouble and anything we asked for was done. Rooms in the process of a refurb, so will no doubt soon be upgraded.

A pleasant night
Friendly staff, and warm room, with plenty of choices of refreshment. Good value for money. Breakfast was good but paper table cloths with marks on need changing for every customer. Stair case carpet could do with a clean.
Very old and worn down building, but the room was modern and clean. Wifi terrible with multiple dead periods every evening. Water pressure in the shower terrible. Quiet and clean room. No breakfast until 8:30 in the weekend. Parking right outside, but cramped space.
Another gem - great hospitality, really pleasant atmosphere. Comfortable bed, super shower, amazing bathroom mirror with integrated bluetooth speaker. Lots of history... how old is it? Good question..... really old, loads of history - tight parking. Very good breakfast too. Again, best review is that I'd go back if travelling that way again. Oh yes, almost forgot.... big telly, four poster bed, lots of interesting pictures, some ancient flagstones, some fascinating things in a display cabinet. I was told that the Norfolk Gem would have been a good pint if it had been on that night - had a Guinness and a dram instead - well stocked bar if that's your thing.
