Disliked: Communication
The campsite, in general, in high season is really noisy. There are a lot of older teens / young adults around. There's a disco across the road that stays open until 3am. There was a Ukrainian youth camp and I was fortunate to have missed the German youth camp, which I was told were very loud. Other cabins were playing music late into the night.
The Happy Camp cabins are very closely clustered together so if one cabin is out talking until the early hours, many of the others can hear it. The air conditioning switches off after 2 hours and you have to restart it, which mostly wasn't a problem.
Across the road there's a disco. You need to have lots of cash ready. Things like sunbeds around the pool and the deposit for the cabin need to be paid in cash. The shops, however, do all take cards, including the ice cream parlour.
What's really nice about it is that there's a reasonably priced well-stocked supermarket, ice cream parlour, nice cafe and a restaurant on site. The beach and the pools are all just there so you can just stay in the campsite. You do not need to really leave to go anywhere else.
My kids loved it, but it was definitely not relaxing. Earplugs are a must.
