We had a great stay at the Anne Shirley! Our room was super clean, furniture and beds were very clean and comfortable. Beautiful pool, staff were friendly and accommodating. A little rough around the edges, but they are clearly working on it all. We stayed in the luxury two bedroom apartment and we had everything we needed and lots of space. Location is excellent, right dab in the middle of green gables, close to beautiful restaurants and beaches. A perfect time! Thanks Anne Shirley's!

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean, very clean. Yes, it's a dated place, the exterior could use some paint and some tiny touches inside but, overall, it was a clean place to crash about 2 minutes from the L.M.Montgomery park and Cavendish beach... Great place.

Very nice room and easy self check-in service. Never seen or spoke to staff once during our stay though. Unfortunately the pool hours weren’t true to word.. it said 9am-8pm but the pool was closed still at 10am when we were hoping to use it. Great location and fair prices for the area

The room was clean (the smell of said cleaner was a bit harsh, though). Beds were comfortable, bathtub did need to be snaked as it pooled around ankles when showering. Excellent room for CBMF weekend.

The fact that there was a nice clean pool on the property was a plus for sure. Safe environment for kids. The only thing was the fact that the pool did not open until 11am. That’s like eternity to kids that get up early. 9am would be better. Especially on checkout day. The only other issue would be the water pressure in the bathroom sink was nonexistent, a dribble at best. We had no problem using the kitchen sink to brush teeth etc. the location was excellent, central to everything in Cavendish. We would definitely return.

Was just ok. We came with kids and based on previous reviews we’re scared of bedbugs. Thankfully the unit was decently new. Beds were semi comfortable. The toilet wasn’t working well in the primary bath - we had the luxury apartment. Had to ask for linens for the pull out sofa. The kids enjoyed the pool. Kitchen had almost everything we needed. Some coffee grounds would have been appreciated. If I were to offer any advice, it would be to clean the guest reservations area: as you walk in there are dead flies and dirt all over the ground. Broken railing, paint chips, etc. just didn’t make the best first impression.

Cons: This used to be a very highly sought after location. It has however changed hands and is poorly maintained. TheAir conditioner did not work properly, dust and dirt spilled out into the room and it seemed to not blow cold air overnight. The Room was not cleaned between multi night stay, towels were left but in that our room had been left unlocked by the two men maintaining the grounds. We could look through the door to the outside and the bathroom window did not close properly. The room smelled as though there was mold or a musty smell in it. There was a coffee pot but no coffee ever during the 3 night stay. Pros: close to tourist attractions and beaches. Pool outside appeared to be well maintained.

The room was a good size and worked for a family of 5. The two bathrooms and small kitchenette was an added bonus. However… The check in was not a good process we arrived about a hour before check in and the office was closed. We retuned at check in time no one was at the desk and had to wait about 10 minutes. Once someone showed up we were told our room was still not ready and wouldn’t be for at least another 20 minutes. We came back and again and again had to wait for someone at the desk to get our room key. We got to the room and first thing we noticed is the door was rusting at the bottom and the room number wasn’t even straight. We walked in and it had a musty odour but looked clean just very outdated. Upon looking around we noticed there was black mold in the main bathroom. We cleaned it and it proceeded to appear the next day. The bathroom toilets also leaked in both bathrooms so there was always a little bit of water behind the toilet on the floor. Every window in the room was unlocked and had to go around to lock each one. The pull out couch had an old skinny mattress on it and was difficult to sleep on as there were springs digging into you. The towels and facecloths were washed but had stains on them and looked dirty. Also the door did not seal properly when closed so this would also allow small insects to crawl in. Overall was not impressed with this motel and would no stay again. Would spend the extra money to go elsewhere.
