Cheap and cheerful a nice clean space to rest my head. The outside could do with a spruce up but for what we paid and how close it is to the train station for Cardiff I have no complaints! Will definitely stay again when attending a concert in Cardiff. Staff were really nice and helpful. Bed was comfortable and the pillows were perfect! Nice big towels too. For the Gavin and Stacey fans Gwens house is only 0.3 miles away so a great place to start if you’re site spotting 😊

Always like staying at the Mount rooms Staff was very friendly and helpful. I think the rooms could be tidied up a little bit more and maybe some pictures on the wall but always a nice friendly stay. Train station 300m away straight into Cardiff central. Could walk straight onto Barry Island from the hotel in about 20 minutes and you’ve also got the lovely area of the cold knap pebble Beach close by.

As soon as I checked in, friendly lovely staff members let me check in a bit early which helped as I had heavy suitcase and I got my room straight. They gave me recommendations for food nearby too which was really helpful as I wasn’t sure what was good local foods. If you want a place to stay in Barry this is it for sure. And one other positive right next to the Barry station within good walking distance.

Quite basic room, no frills, but clean and tidy. Price reflects the standard of rooms. Little decoration issues, but nothing too major. Staff were absolutely brilliant, very helpful, polite and smart. Would definitely recommend the hotel if you're on a budget, but if you're after luxury, this wouldn't be the hotel for you. There's no eating facilities there, but a nice bar.

Double bedroom was clean & tidy. It had tea and coffee in the bedroom. The room was very lost cost but was fine for a couple of nights in Barry. We had breakfast at the nearby Wetherspoons pub just a 5 minutes walk downhill, as the hotel does not have a restaurant only a small bar.

The room was clean, the bed was comfy and it was reasonably quiet, and very conveniently sited, which was all we needed. The staff were very friendly and helpful too. If you're after something more fancy this will not be for you, but if you just want a solid place to sleep then it's a good choice.

A get what you pay for hotel that is in need of a bit of TLC. Not filthy but definitely needs a good clean. An old false nail was on the stairs for 3 days, cobwebs in the room but bathroom and bedding was clean. Broken bed frame made sleeping uncomfortable but just about bearable. Mattress comfortable though. No food in the hotel despite a really nice unused Bistro area. Location was ok if you are happy to walk up and down a hill. About 20 min walk to the beach. Parking on site is very limited but had no problem finding a space on the nearby roads. Nice independent cafes a short walk away. Hotel staff helpful and friendly, if anything a little too over the top friendly. The hotel was fine a night or 2. Not sure we would go back again though.

For the price we have no complaints, the hotel was modern and clean, the staff were so helpful and friendly! Beds were comfortable. There was a function on so music was loud until 12am but we were so tired, it didnt bother us!
