Rooms are a bit tired with the bathroom needing a refresh. Noisy, even though we were far from the front of the building . This was our second stay as it is very convenient for the centre of town, but both times we’ve now had noisy nights. Continental breakfast is limited for the price. Parking is very useful but expensive if you don’t book directly but 3rd party sites offer cheaper prices.

Room clean, bed comfortable. Hotel in general looks tired and could do with a spruce up, especially the front entrance. If you don’t book direct with hotel there is a car park charge. Breakfast was included but this was continental which I was not aware of at time of booking. Not a huge selection at breakfast - a few pastries, only one ham, three preformed cheeses. three fruit, watermelon, honeydew melon or pineapple. Full English was an extra charge. Served its purpose of somewhere to stay after a night out in Cambridge but not sure I would use it again.

The location of this hotel is excellent for walking into Cambridge centre. Rooms ver comfortable and staff helpful. Only drawback was an £18 per night car parking fee as we had booked through a third party and not directly with the hotel.

Good location, dated hotel. Booking via Expedia was an issue as parking was £18 per day and no hot breakfast as have to pay £12 in addition. This all adds up as hidden rate. So book direct would be my recommendation. Check out was at 10:30 am! Any extra time is £20 per hour. The toilet was stained. We were given choice of room in 5th floor, steep stairs, please consider if mobility issues. The hotel is a period building and must have been grand in its own times. Staff are always smiling and nice to guests. I bumped my head a few times as it was a loft room. There is tea and kettle in the room. The continental breakfast has good choices. Would recommend some eggs as I don’t eat ham. There was no choice of protein as such. But good spread of fruits, cheese and carbs. It was okay for 2 nights. Location was perfect for us as its opposite the punting as well.

Clean, warm, and in a great location. However, it’s a bit pricey since parking isn’t included and breakfast is limited. The staff are pushy and unkind, the stairs are uncomfortable, and the timings for dinner and breakfast are too short.

Great location for exploring central Cambridge. Lovely hotel with good food, parking and friendly staff. Menu stated cocktails and mocktails, but we were told these weren't available.

The hotel could do with some TLC and some money spent on it, as there were a lot of visible cracks and leak stains in the building. Whilst the room seemed dated. Staff were excellent. Bar closed at 10pm which wasn’t very good.

We had ensuite with a bath which was lovely. The room was very clean and the continental breakfast was very generous. Our room overlooked the park and the river which we really enjoyed, the busy road at night not so much but that's because we are not used to it, it was warm and we needed to keep the windows open which let in more noise. The staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. There are stairs everywhere so if you have limited mobility this could be an issue. There are ground floor rooms but to access the breakfast room you do need to go up and down stairs and to enter the hotel from the front. Overall we had a good stay at a very reasonably priced hotel.

4/10 Poor

Disliked: Property conditions & facilities
Property looked lovely from the photos and was expensive enough for us to anticipate something a bit special. Fabulous location right next to all the activities we had planned. Gardens were lovely and it was nice to sit having breakfast in the conservatory looking out on to them. The rest was sadly disappointing however. Drab interior needed re-decorating. Leaves all over the carpet in the hall outside our room which did not get hoovered up in two days and in fact got worse as the weekend went on. Breakfast was a bit of a shambles as there was not a member of staff in the right place to direct people to the buffet and seating. We were helped by other guests on our first day and we directed others on our second day. We were on the ground floor which smelt damp and looked out over the car park. Bathroom was clean and great for our needs except it lacked a shelf to put our things on and some hooks to hang clothes/ washbag/towel etc on. We found out too late, just as we were checking in, that we could have had free parking had we booked direct. Instead we paid £36. Below the standard of a Premier Inn. Would not recommend, sorry.

Its a shame as the Hotel is in a good place for us, but it needs cleaning so much our room had not been hovered bits and hair on the carpet. Dust was thick on the furniture, and had not been cleaned from the last person who left, milk stains from the tea tray still there with hair on the tray. Spiders were huge with their webs on the high ceiling. These details if they had been sorted would have been so much better. On the plus side we had a front facing room with large windows that can be opened, it was boiling hot outside and hotter inside, the road outside was very busy so having to have the window open all night was not good we did not sleep at all. Breakfast was okay for us. One thing that was good was that the bed was clean.

My sister and myself stayed at the hotel last night, the room wasn't in the main hotel, it was across the car park.on entertaining the room it was old fashioned, this we could cope with. The problem was the room was boiling hot, it hadn't been aired. Windows all closed. It didn't look like at had been used for a very long time. It was late so we just went to bed, it was very noisy, definitely no soundproofing... The room was absolutely discussing, dirty, cobwebs, cracks in plaster. The bathroom was so dirty and not kept clean that we couldn't even have a shower. We have photos to show but I can't upload on here. I would like booking .com to contact me,please

The position of the hotel was really good, nice views and in an accessible location. Good transport links. Everyone at the hotel was helpful, kind and warm. Nothing was too much. The food was lovely and reasonable prices. I especially enjoyed the Salmon in white wine sauce and Prawns with seasonal veg, it was scrumptious. I would definitely stay here again.

The hotel is in a great location, approximately 15 minute walk to the town centre and Kings College, There is parking on site, which is payable for customers who have not booked directly through hotel website. Blue Badge holders park for free. Hang onto your parking ticket, as you'll need it to exit the barrier. All the staff were friendly and helpful and were very accommodating with installation of oxygen concentrator and tanks for my husband's use. Our large double room was spacious and clean, although there is no AC, so it was very warm, even with the window open. We took small portable fans which helped massively during the night. The continental breakfast is mainly bread/toast, pastries and fresh fruit, with ham and cheese. The shower was pretty powerful and shampoo and shower gel are provided.
