Hotel Budir can't be beat. The location next to Budakirkja (the black church) was perfect, and it was very easy to find. The rooms were very comfortable and very clean. The restaurant had very good food, and the bar was a nice place to stop and look out over the water. Check-in was very easy and the staff were all very nice and very helpful. We would definitely stay there again.
What a gem! Great location off the beaten path with plenty of atmosphere and free parking. Our 2nd story room had great views to the volcano. Plenty of walkable paths nearby. Great restaurant with a decent breakfast.
It is a very elegant classic hotel located at quiet oceanside, You can see wild birds, ducks, and even swans from room windows. Hotels' lounge is very cozy and home like so you can drink beers and watch over windows for the peaceful mountains and ocean views. If have time, should stay couple days to relax. Next door is the famous BLack Church. However, hope the hotel can upgrade their shower room as it is still using shower curtains and the silicon fill between tiles need to be replaced to new white color. The rest is very fine. Staff are very friendly .
1. Room features & Views
@well-laid-out room featuring two convenient bedside small tables, writing desk
@Scenic seating: a comfortable sofa positioned by the window, offering a view of the iconic black church.
2. Staffs were professional and helpful
3. Breakfast was great with good selections
4. Absolute Seclusion, Nature at your doorstep, direct access to coastal walking paths, rich local birdlife, a heaven for tranquil retreat and reflection
I stayed at Hótel Búðir as a solo traveller and absolutely loved my experience. The room was incredibly cozy, with partial ocean views and beautiful views of the glacier. The staff were welcoming and helpful throughout my stay, and both the bar and restaurant were fantastic — the food was amazing. The grounds themselves are gorgeous, and the view from the beach was absolutely breathtaking. Such a peaceful and memorable place to stay while exploring Snæfellsnes.
Quaint hotel - triple room was nice because it was actually 2 bedrooms with separate bathrooms. Dinner was nice but pricey and portions were smaller than most other hotels. Next to the Black Church.
Great hotel in an amazing location. Beautiful views and scenery. Room was large and clean. Shower was tiny. Bed was very comfortable. Breakfast was good and pretty much the only think nearby to eat. Dinner was average, not that great, and the only thing I would not do again there.
The location was terrific. However, the food at dinner was not good enough for the place and the price. Instead of a small menu that was aspiring to ( but not achieving) fine dining, the menu should consist of a greater choice of good and well prepared bistro level food.
It would be great to add a spa (sauna, hot tub etc) as an amenity to the hotel.
Such a gorgeous property. We loved it so much and would love to come back again. The food at the restaurant was excellent as well. Thank you for making our trip so memorable! It was just breathtakingly beautiful!
The staff was so friendly and helpful and the hotel was beautiful and comfortable. It’s set on a remote beach so the views can’t be beat. The food was excellent as well. I would definitely stay here again!
This place was so cute. Beautiful location on the water and right next to the black church and windy beach. Delicious food and friendly helpful waitstaff. One of our favorite stays.
We stayed in the newer wing of the hotel which was very lovely. The rooms were spacious and the interior was very modern.
The hotels restaurant also served delicious food though there are not many other options near by.
I woild stay here again.
