“Lovely old pub off the main road. Staff are helpful, they serve a good pint and the breakfast was first rate. Negative points - the mattress on the king-size bed is too soft and no brewed coffee in the morning. I would stay there again.”

There is no air conditioning in the bedrooms but it was possible to open the window. The breakfast choice wasn't huge but perfectly adequate with bread and cereals and a freshly cooked hot course of our choice. Overall a really comfortable stay with a very friendly and helpful host.”

I stayed overnight on a Friday arriving at 7pm and the available parking in the hotel carpark and local area was extremely limited so I would recommend arriving early. Do not rely on being able to connect to the hotel free WiFi. I could not connect at all and was told by a staff member that it was most likely due to the bar / restaurant areas being busy. “Our fourth stay at the Metropole in recent years.A privilege to stay in such a unique historic building,with yes a little patina around the edges.If you dont embrace the nostalgia then budget chain's are available.The staff here are so good,as is the breakfast and the pool and spa facility.A great location for roadtrips around mid Wales,and a huge car park.”
