First, the good things - staff was very friendly especially the woman that checked me in and checked me out. The bed was comfortable and very clean. The carpeting in the halls and room were new. It does appear that they are beginning to renovate. I requested a handicap- accessible room which usually means a walk-in shower. This one has a bathtub/shower. It also had a pedestal sink and a very rusty metal shelf unit that held the toilet paper and clean towels. It was actually kind of gross. The bowl on the pedestal sink was loose and the drain stopper was broken so you had to pull the whole thing out to drain the sink. The thermostat did not work. The desk chair was broken. The pool was closed due to repairs. There is an odd smell when you walk into the lobby which may have been a combination between fresh paint and the pool. But the worst part was that I stayed there because they were pet-friendly so I had my dog’s food and water in the bathroom on the tile floor versus the carpeting in the room. When I got ready to leave, my dog’s food dish was filled with ants! Again, the lady at the desk was very apologetic and friendly.
