“This hotel is a classic example of faded glory. A pleasant location which was near the Nyetimber Vineyard, which was the reason for the stay.
I did send them a message asking advice on local taxi firms when I made the original booking, which was never responded to at all.
The check in was interesting as the young lady stood up to recite her script of things we should and shouldn’t do in the hotel. This included the offer of cooked breakfast (continental is included). Amusingly, if you contact...

“The room was very clean
Bed was good but could feel the springs a bit, although comfortable enough to sleep on
The food was excellent especially the Sausage and Mash and the Steak and Ale Pie, good portion sizes, very friendly staff.”

“Liked because, being a single woman there, the staff were friendly and helpful, the property was clean and the food was good, and I felt safe.”

“A very quaint period public house. Our room was quite small but definitely adequate for our 2 night stay. Obviously to be expected with a quaint period public house. The bar was well stocked and plenty of room at the bar, surrounding tables and restaurant. The staff were very knowledgeable, engaging and friendly.
Overall a very pleasurable stay and my wife is already planning to revisit with a friend. The 8 Bells is a perfect location to walk to the Bolney wine vineyard and neighbouring...

“Angel Inn is close to the centre of Petworth, the staff were very friendly and welcoming. The room was clean and spacious, the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom had a large modern bath and separate shower and everything was very clean. We appreciated the teapot in the room and selection of teas, also the complimentary flapjack. We ate in the restaurant area of the inn and had an excellent meal. ”
