This hotel was very comfortable and super convenient to all parts of Bilbao. The Old Town was a short walk away, and the art museums including the Guggenheim were very close. I liked the size of the room and a certain cheeriness the hotel had.

I loved this hotel. I got a superior room, which has a little sitting room for one right on the Paseo, near the river. The room was spacious and comfortable. The hotel location was excellent between the Calatrava bridge and the Guggenheim museum. The front desk staff was very helpful.

We have been traveling through Spain for 3 weeks now and this hotel is by far the very best one! We upgrades to a junior suite with a sofa bed and the room was huge. The dining and living area were great for having meals. The hotel staff was extremely gracious and helpful. Also so convenient to have a parking garage. We loved the neighborhood as it was quiet and residential but just minutes across the bridge to the main spots.

Great location, easy access to everything. Staff were lovely, especially Rakel on reception, she was so helpful, friendly and pleasant. Clean rooms, bit minimalist and a bit tired in places, but very comfortable and very clean. Good breakfast, nice bar for a nightcap.

The room we originally booked had a bad smell when we checked in and staff were kind enough to quickly find us a new room and give us a complimentary upgrade. After that, our stay was great. Our new room was clean and spacious, with a lovely view of the river. The location is convenient and walkable to the rest of the city. We would definitely stay here again!

Small issues like not that clean and in the bath the bath water setting kept moving to turn the shower on. Its a dingy looking hotel but what makes up for it is the exceptionally professional staff. Very polite, positive and respectful to me as a guest, IN FACT, I checked out of Barcelo Bilbao Nervion to come and stay here for the last night of my stay in Bilbao. Because the staff at that hotel, which calls itsself a 4 star hotel are rude, cold and you get questioned like a suspect thieve but a weird guy who stands by the elavator at the the Barcelo So in comparison the staff here are so much nicer. The bed was extremely comfortable too so I am a happy customer following my stay at the Hesperia

Fantastic room in a great location. Perfect for exploring all Bilbao had to offer. If we ever find ourselves back in Bilbao, we'd for sure stay here again. And the staff could not have been nicer, especially Patricia. She gave us great recommendations for restaurants to eat at, but also took the time to suggest stops on our drive to A Coruna. And she was super helpful in making sure the luggage that got lost during our flight made it to our room when the airlines delivered it. Thank you again for a wonderful stay!

Well located hotel for the Guggenheim and all the good restaurants and bars just across the river. Convenient though slightly pricey car park underneath. Decent sized standard room, but completely soulless, not even a picture on the wall and the mattress is hard as stone! Good shower and bathroom. A fair selection at the buffet breakfast, be prepared to be told very firmly where to sit!

What a wonderful stay! While our room did not overlook the riverfront directly, we could easily see it from the comfort of our window. The room itself was quiet and comfortable, and having a bathtub to soak in made it even more enjoyable. We were able to get to nearby restaurants and museums with ease. And the staff were very friendly.

We came to the Hesperia after a long, 12-hour bus ride around the Portuguese and Spanish coasts. Our one night stay was to see the Bilbao Guggenheim Art Gallery. After the bus trip we were shagged and I think the helpful hotel manager took pity on two old fogies and upgraded us to a junior suite. It was very comfortable and well appointed and only a 300 metre walk to the Guggenheim. The furnishings were high quality modern and the bed very comfortable. The bathroom was likewise very modern and well set out. The breakfast next morning was of the good quality buffet style provided in four and five star hotels these days. The staff were helpful almost to a fault. The only glitch was that we arrived on a Sjunay evening and the restaurant was the bar area with a very limited menu with one of the wait-staff bumbling around looking as though could have done a course in hospitality. Would we go back thisn hotel again? You betcha That’s if we get the opportunity for a two or three day stay to take a good look around Bilbao which in Spain’s industrial heartland.
