This is a very old building and the rooms (at least ours #33 - attic) showed it. Our room was 54 steps up, the floors have a slight slanted, the bedroom barely large enough for a queen size bed especially with the walls slanting inward. The bathroom was ok, but just ok with a stand alone sink (12”x15”), little counter space, well you get the picture. It satisfied our needs as a one night crash pad but again barely. The host(est) was great, parking is close and covered and cost us about $25 for the afternoon & overnight that we were there. I must say that the location is spectacular - the real high point. Breakfast was very good, we had hot chocolate and Belgium waffles that were delicious. So the location and breakfast was the reason it got a two star instead of a one star. We wouldn’t stay there again but for now, it’s a memory.

The Rock Inn is an excellent stay for weary lodgers. With an amazing host, fantastic setting, great food and rooms that are both quiet, comfortable and clean- we enjoyed our stay there and came to consider our host a very good friend. Highly Recommended!

Rooms aren’t rooms. Be mindful when booking a room in this hotel that you may be allocated one that doesn’t match the pictures shown. Ours was a King Room in the attic that did not look at all like the ones shown.

Loved our stay at the Black Fox. Nice modern rooms above the pub right in the centre of town. So close and convenient to all the attractions! Thankful for the fan during the particularly hot summer, the room did heat up a bit during the days. Very comfy bed and excellent breakfast choices in the morning.

Et veldig hyggelig hotell sentralt i Bath, der soverommene ligger over en pub. Her spiser man også frokost og de har mange typer øl og vin. Personalet var veldig hyggelige og hjelpsomme og rommet var rent og hyggelit. Det eneste negative var at rommet ble veldig varmt, fordi det var så varmt ute og ikke AC. Det er også noe støy fra gatene rundt, men alt i alt et hotell jeg vil anbefale hvis du liker hoteller med sjel.

The Black Fox was a great spot conveniently located near all of the attractions that Bath had to offer in walking distance. There was also an amazing bar restaurant in the lobby that made meals so easy. Loved it.

This is a pub, so reception is at the bar, we were able to drop our bags early and felt they were safe. On our return check in was quick, we received our key and instructions to find our room. We had paid for a 'King Room', it was on the 3rd floor, luckily we only had a small case. There was work being done so we looked out on scaffolding. The room was small, quirky and had a sloping floor which meant the bed also sloped and small, but everything was clean, the bathroom was good, lots of hot water. The main problem was a lot of noise outside all night, as the pub is on a corner of the main walkway between the restaurants/attractions and the bus and train station. It did not stop until about 3am. Breakfast was excellent

The hotel is in an excellent central location, just a short walk from some of the main sights you would want to see in the city. Getting around was very easy. The staff were incredibly kind, welcoming and genuinely lovely throughout my stay. I stayed on my own with my dog and we were given a very sweet room with a city view. The room was small but perfectly sufficient and comfortable for us. Breakfast was very good, with items selected from a menu and served quickly. The service was efficient and friendly, and the dishes were fresh and tasty. Overall, I was very happy with my stay and would happily choose this hotel again on my next visit.
