In my booking confirmation via Expedia the price for parking was confirmed to be 30 GBP per night, which is already quite expensive. However upon arrival the price was 50 GBP per night, which is just useless. Other hotels are able to honor the price confirmed at the time of the booking for existing bookings also when the car park is managed through an external company. During our time in the hotel the lift was broken which was a major annoyance. The rooms are very small for a family with four people. The staff was nice though and the breakfast was good as well.

It was ok when I stayed there in 2007 but on my sojourn in 2026 it had gone totally to seed. The lift wasn't even working. It wasn't great for my dad and his partner who are 83 and 87 respectively to be placed on the 3rd floor with no working lift! Although we were notified of this fact 3 days ahead of our stay, apparently the elevator had been out of service for several weeks. If we could have had proper notice we would have arranged alternative accommodation. Unfortunately, the notification we received was insufficient time to arrange suitable alternative accommodation during a bank holiday weekend. Beside the elevator not working, the shower barely had water pressure and gave off that damp, "farty towel" smell, the breakfast buffet was uninspiring and the seating badly organised. Redeeming features, there was a superhelpful young man called Harvey who checked us in and offered to have bags carried up.

All perfectly pleasant. Clean. Rooms average city hotel size. Staff friendly and helpful.. air con great in recent v hot weather. Breakfast perfectly fine. Only two things to be aware of. £50 a day to park in the car park. Use alternate parks or the park and ride at £3 a day and bus in then get a cab.
