The hotel and room were very clean. The bed was really comfortable. Facilities were all really useful. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The upgrade was excellent with free travel on public transport and discounts for attractions. Excellent location for transport and amenities. This was our third stay in four years which s a strong recommendation. Our room was good and was very quiet despite being close to the bus and train stations. The staff were very helpful with one exception when they found it difficult to give precise directions to a landmark in the city - quickly corrected by another member of staff. The room met all our needs and had a kettle, safe and small fridge - all very useful for our stay of 8 days. Sadly none of the rooms in our price range had a shower (only a shower over the bath), but with difficulty we managed. One great bonus is its easy access to the railway station (2 minutes away) which was important as we used the Swiss Travel Pass extensively throughout our stay. Everything was as we expected it to be and overall we recommend The Metropol warmly.

We were only staying one night and chose it because of proximity to both train station and airport bus stop - less than 5 minutes walk. The hotel entrance is shared with another hotel so not immediately obvious. The room was clean and comfortable and the continental breakfast had all the usual options.

Lovely hotel In a wonderful location

A really good stay. The station is in a really good location near the station and a minute walk from the tram. Staff were really friendly and everything was neat and comfortable.
