The property is lovely inside and out. It is also in a great location for town. The owners are very friendly and helpful. Room was clean and quiet. Would definitely stay again.
The hosts, Dan and Jo were wonderful and full of helpful information. Location is perfect. Close enough to walk to shops/restaurants and a quick drive to Acadia National Park! Delicious breakfast every morning and wine/cheese Happy Hour late afternoon. So much character in the house. Great place to stay!
We had a wonderful 6 night stay in the spacious Garden Room! The house is beautiful inside & out. Dan & Joan are perfect hosts - he with insightful recommendations on sites/experiences on and off the beaten track; she with fine restaurant quality breakfasts that are healthy and filling. One always feels fortunate when a booking meets the expectations set by the site listing...the Chiltern Inn exceeded them! Thank you, Dan & Joan.
Great location, walkable to downtown Bar Harbor and close to Acadia National Park. Clean rooms, delicious breakfasts and helpful tips about the area from Dan, the Inn Keeper. We had a great stay.
We loved the Chiltern Inn and all the history behind it. Beautiful place to stay, breakfast was delicious, able to walk to town, close to Arcadia and Cadillac Mountain road. Dan was very knowable. Great place to stay.
Wonderful stay. Dan and Joan were excellent hosts. Very friendly and helpful. Breakfast both days was fantastic and beautifully presented. Location was very good, a quick 10 to 15 minute walk downtown. If your room is on the 2nd floor there are stairs. Chiltern Inn is a beautiful place to stay. Highly recommend.
The room was very clean and very quaint. We loved it the owners were very friendly and informative, and they've served an awesome breakfast. The inn was absolutely gorgeous. I highly recommend going there
Joan and Dan were lovely. Dan played music in the afternoons during wine and cheese time. We got a good mix of wine/cheese by ourselves and a bit of socializing as well. Dan's voice is wonderful as he occasionally sings the songs he plays (piano is primary instrument).
We loved our stay at Chiltern and would return. Dan welcomed us with wine, cheese, and song. He was quite helpful directing us throughout town as well as on our hikes at Acadia.
Bar Harbor is a lovely town. We enjoyed the ocean side walk as well as lunch at The Terrace.
It was nice to meet the other travelers and enjoy breakfast
Only con for us was the heat in the bathroom. We also thought room would be cleaned as we stayed 2 nights but maybe that was a miscommunication.
We recomend staying here-walkable to town as well as moutain.

Owners were very friendly and helpful for area activities.
Enjoyed our breakfast and especially Joan and Dan’s hospitality and knowledge of the area. They helped us get the most out of our trip and visit to Acadia
Beautiful inn, Joan and Dan were so kind and hospitable. It's a nice short walk to downtown Bar Harbor. And everything was super smooth while we were there. We especially loved the jacuzzi tub in our room!
We had amazing stay at this B&B. The owner gives detailed info on roundabouts. The breakfast was so good we wanted to stay extra night. Really enjoyed the stay and want to come visit again.
We had an easy check-in and appreciated that we could park early to allow us to explore Acadia park. The room was very clean with a nice bathroom and a comfortable living room!
What a beautiful Inn! We stayed in the Yellow Room which was nicely appointed and opened into a charming sitting room.
We enjoyed a delicious breakfast and wonderful advice about sightseeing from our hosts.
The Inn is away from the bustle of downtown, but close enough to walk.
We had a wonderful time and highly recommend a stay at Chiltern Inn.
We had a wonderful stay! Lovely Inn, walking distance to great restaurants & beautiful sites. Short ride to Acadia. Dan & Joan couldn’t be more accommodating. Hope to be back again in near future.
Great place, lovely carriage house with plenty to do, awesome breakfasts, a stocked library and engaging hosts. A wonderful landing place from which to explore all the opportunities Bar Harbor and Acadia park have to offer. Highly recommend.
