“Stayed here as a family base to get the ferry the next morning. Children enjoyed the pool and hot tub, then watching curling whilst having dinner. Food was good and not badly priced. Staff polite and friendly. Room worked really well for 4. Shower over the bath could have been better. Able to charge an electric car with no hassle. All in all would recommend.”

“This is a room above a pub. It is the cleanest room I have ever stayed in. It is small but functional with a comfortable bed. The staff are excellent and extremely accommodating. Breakfast is free and so is the clean fresh air. Food is excellent and the place is pet friendly. Its about 35 mins to the ferry but worth the journey.”

“Habitacion comoda y muebles nuevos. Cafe y te en la hab. Secador. Almuerzo caliente. Zumo. Cereales. No hay parquin se tiene que aparcar en la calle pero hay mucho espacio. Responsables muy amables.”

“This property was perfect for us. Sandy was so nice when we arrived early. We love to be able to have a window open and see outside. It’s nothing fancy but it was clean and host was fantastic.”

“Not a very friendly welcome and no help with luggage ( no elevator). Friendly breakfast gal and a pub and eatery downstairs and right next door. Waterfront walk if weather is nice”

“Bar area is absolutely lovely, great drinks, food and the staff are lovely. Breakfast was lush. Just watch out if you're in the top floor and you're about 6ft! Love this place.”

“Booking a room with a Seaview is a must when staying here...we only had dinner and breakfast twice , really enjoyed what he had, the buffet breakfast being hot was bonus too ..young girl Olivia is an asset to the place and couldn't help us enough...we will definitely be back x”

“Everything great, except that when we booked we informed you that my wife had a breathing problem and used oxygen, and also asked whether you had a lift, to which the answer was yes. On arrival we were given a room on the side without a lift, so my wife was obliged to struggle up and down the stairs. On the side where there was a lift, the sitting room and restaurants required no use of stairs. Obviously you decided to ignore our problem for some other convenience of the hotel management. ”

“Stayed here on a visit to Wigtown in late August 2026. Communication was great with multiple emails confirming reservation and instructions. Although there are no staff of duty the instructions on how to get the key were timely and detailed and we had no problems at all getting in and checking out, and we arrived late. The bunkhouse is clean, smelled fresh, and the rooms were nice. We stayed in rooms 1 & 3 and it was lovely. Also very quite! The bathrooms were modern, very clean, and well...

“It's position. Excellent food.”

“We arrived slightly earlier but Derek had left the house key in door for us to let ourselves in. He called later to check everything was OK and showed us how to open the hottub lid . It was all ready to jump in and very warm. Cottage was modern and everything needed was provided, towels, bathrobes for hottub, cutlery and plates etc. Excellent front garden for playing football with our son. Overall couldn't fault it and had a relaxing stay.”
