We stayed at the Athens Central Hotel for one night while moving our daughter back to college, and it was a great choice. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and very convenient for getting around Athens. After a long day of move-in activities, it was nice to have a comfortable place to come back to. The manager was friendly and welcoming, and everything about our stay was easy and straightforward. We would definitely stay here again when visiting Athens and would recommend it to other Ohio University families looking for a convenient place to stay.

Hotel was super clean and appeared newly renovated. Staff very helpful. Hotel located in DT so within walking distance to many bars and restaurants. The breakfast that was provided was disappointing. Eggs, sausage, sausage gravy etc were all lukewarm at best. Limited selection of cereal, bread and yogurt.

Searching online for one night hotel room while traveling and came across the Central Athens Hotel and took a chance with a local hotel based on price, reviews, and pictures versus staying at your typical interstate corporate hotel. This hotel did not disappoint. This place is a sweat gem of a place to stay. First, place is clean inside and out and they have obviously been thorough to make this older hotel feel fresh and new versus just covering up with some paint. Hotel has a nice modern vibe. The check in and out receptionists were very friendly and offered tips/advice about where to eat and what to see locally. The room was excellent, clean and comfortable, bathroom was modern with large walk in shower and unreal shower options. Breakfast offered free freshly made scrambled eggs with real eggs, not just the powered stuff like in the big box hotels. I have no hesitation referring other's to this sweet little hotel. I plan to stay there again.

When I arrived at 6 PM, the staff was busy, but I got in within a reasonable amount of time and they checked me in. The room is beautiful, and I love the decor. The bed slept really well and having a high-tech shower was great. Everything was so spacious and well laid out. Free drinks were helpful too and I was able to relax for two glorious, blissful nights. Their breakfast was one of the better ones I’ve had and I’ve never had scrambled eggs so good either. This is definitely a place. I will go back to if I have to stay in Athens again.
