We absolutely loved our little home away from home at the Ambrosia Suites! The area surrounding may not look the nicest but we never felt unsafe and the location could not have been better! 30 minute walk to the Acropolis and a cute little square just around the corner with a mini market (open 24hrs!) and shops and restaurants! The staff was incredibly helpful for everything we needed. Our 2 bedroom apartment with a balcony was absolutely perfect! And the complimentary breakfast was a lovely discovery as well! :)

Very very clean hotel and rooms! The front desk guy was super helpful and kind! Breakfast was excellent. Price was very good. The hotel is located on an area not very pretty but safe if you walk to the left to the metro station and even you can walk for about 25 minutes to the Acropolis. (If you walk to the right you can find homeless, intoxicated people, etc). The closest restaurant has home made food that we loved. The owners are very lovely people!

Ambrosia hotel stay

We arrived late but we're greeted at the front desk with no problem. Our stay was only for one night but was quiet. The included breakfast was excellent 👌. I would stay again.

Good hotel in bad area

Accommodation is great. Staff are really friendly and helpful and the rooms are decent, clean, comfy. The breakfast is very very basic so don't expect much. And sadly the area is very dodgy. Lots of drug use in plain sight and solicitation.

Good Value for Money, but Be Aware of the Omonia Square Neighborhood. Location: -Very close to and within walking distance of Omonia Square. Steps away from numerous restaurants, convenience stores, and pharmacies. Like many hotels in the Omonia Square area, the neighborhood can feel sketchy, with a highly visible presence of homelessness and prostitution. Be cautious when going out at night. Room & Facilities: -We were traveling as a family of four and were given a two-bedroom suite with two bathrooms, which was extremely convenient. Having two bathrooms made getting ready much easier for our family. -The hotel building is old and tired, much like many of the buildings throughout Athens, and has a somewhat musty smell. However, the rooms were cleaned daily. -The reception staff were okay. -free wifi, good amd.strong connection Breakfast: -Complimentary breakfast was included and offered a good selection: scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, ham and cheese, bread, cereals Greek yogurt, cucumbers The food was good and sufficient to start the day. -Just be aware that the breakfast menu remains the same every day and does not change. Overall: Excellent value for money. An affordable stay in Athens, provided you are aware of the characteristics of the Omonia Square neighborhood and take normal precautions, especially at night.

The property has a good center location, close to subway and taxi stop and all necessary stores. The entrance has a very strong bad odor look like sewer pipe broken in the entrance. I doubt that the change the pillows cover or changed the beds sheets. Wifi was weak signal and the breakfast was ok. I rather to pay $20-$30 more for a better hotel.

we are on a budget, so we picked this hotel. also it is close to metro. location is not the best, but we walked around the neighbourhood and it was rather safe. the receptionists are friendly. breakfast is lower than average. the rooms are big, but there is a weird odour (coming in from the hallway). my bed have spring poking out.

Miserable old receptionists whom also manage the hotel. So rude and brash they belong more on a school playground as prefects. I understand it is not their fault that Omonia is in a such a dodgy state however they should balance this by being welcoming their guests instead. Breakfast was terrible and a reminder of soviet times. Only good thing was that the bathroom was surprisingly clean.

Great room for the price

Friendly staff. Room spotless and comfy. Breakfast was good. Neighborhood was fine during the day but a bit sketchy at night as all the businesses boarded up. Only two blocks from the metro and about 15 minute walk from all the sites.
