Astoria was our last stop for the Oregon coast road trip . We had booked at Hampton inn for the historic town experience! We enjoyed our stay! They had hot breakfast that helped! Also the riverwalk was just right behind the hotel . We enjoyed it. Overall satisfied and happy with our stay !

We were pleasantly surprised by the location - the hotel is right near the water and Pier 39 is much closer than we thought! The location was perfect, very near downtown, and also very close to all the basics, like Safeway. There's a trail right in the back of the hotel that takes you along the water and the views are fantastic. Pros/cons: Seals. There are a lot in the water and on the rocks outside, which is really charming and adds to the overall atmosphere. Cons = Seals. They are quite loud and if you are a light sleeper, you will need earplugs. We were able to manage by making sure the windows were closed and by pulling down the shades and curtains to buffer. Once that was done, the noise was actually fine and sounded like marine noise/seagulls in the background. We'd definitely stay here again.

It was nice to be by the river. We enjoyed watching the ships. We enjoyed the river walk and saw the sea lions “ singing”. The room was spacious, the bed was comfortable, and the shower had good water pressure and hot water. There were several options for breakfast. A very nice place to stay.

We stayed at this Hampton Inn last minute when we bailed on our previously reserved hotel because it was, for lack of better words, gross. Hampton Inns have never failed me yet. Always nice and always have a good breakfast. Bonus, you can walk to pier 39 and the house from The Goonies
