This is a wonderful (c.1880) National Historic Register property with fine rooms, exceptional staff,great atmosphere,nice breakfast and fun afternoon social hour. Location perfect for walking Hendersonville.

The room was very clean, bathroom was modern, the staff was warm and friendly. We enjoyed the live music, evening social hour with drinks and snacks. The location was excellent, and within walking distance to Main Street restaurants and shops. Overall, it was a good stay. I would not hesitate to rebook, if I am in the area in the future.

The Charleston Inn proved to be an excellent place to stay during my time in Hendersonville. The breakfasts and overall service were consistently impressive, and the location—just a short two‑block walk from the downtown area filled with shops and restaurants—made exploring especially convenient. Even with the Garden Jubilee taking place and the weekend being rainy, it was still an enjoyable visit, made better by having such a comfortable and well‑situated place to stay.

The location is great with access to the Main Street district. Everything is walkable. The bed and room were comfortable. Old, but clean. It is inn from the 1880s after all. I found the multiple access codes to be off-putting (front door, room). and then a key works, but then I didn’t get a key for other things. It gets a bit tedious. There is very little front desk support. It is closed most of the time. You have to call a number for assistance. There is ample free parking, but at first it is not clear where you can park. I would stay here again, but you need to be aware of the nuances. The proximity to the Main Street district is what makes it invaluable. There are only a couple of places to stay that have this location.

Charming! We were there several days and it was full house and nice wine and music in the dining room in the evening and then everyone left on Monday and we had the whole place to ourselves with only one other guest making it for a quiet peaceful evening! It’s an old building in need of repairs but overall it was a great stay! Staff was very friendly and helpful but weren’t on site all the time.

It is historic, beautiful and charming. The room was clean. Multiple beverages, baked goods & snacks were available 24/7. A full breakfast was available in the mornings. There are multiple shops nearby. The staff were very sweet and helpful, but some things were out of their control. There is no onsite staff person there at night, though there is someone to call if there is a problem. The locks on the front door and the room doors are old, and hard to lock & unlock. The locks required a multi-character code, which sometimes did not work. The alternative was a key, which also sometimes did not work, requiring multiple tries, another person to help, or a call to the offsite staff. The printed TV instructions, for a regular remote & an Amazon fire stick, were not correct. I had to fiddle with them multiple times to find a workaround. The stairs were steep, and there was a handrail on one side only, which felt hazardous when trying to manage luggage or carry a package. The shower/tub was high to step over, and there was nothing to grab onto for support except the sliding glass door.
