An old convention centre and sprawling hotel from a bygone era, buried in the back streets of Ashburton. Everything quite dated but rooms were clean & spacious. Staff were great. Meals exceptional. Good value for money if you don’t mind it being a bit old fashioned style

Overall, I had a quick but lovely stay for work. I had a slightly late check-in at 6:15pm, which hadn’t been pre-arranged, and unfortunately found it quite difficult to get hold of a staff member as reception was unattended. I ended up calling the room service number, which put me through to the bar, and the staff there provided excellent service and assistance. The room itself was clean, comfortable, and at a pleasant temperature. However, I’m slightly taller than average, so I found the shower head to be quite low and somewhat outdated. Breakfast the following morning was excellent, and I really appreciated being able to access it early at 6:30am before heading to work. Overall, it was a very pleasant stay, with the friendly service and excellent breakfast being particular highlights.
