This hotel is absolutely perfect. Large pool, rooms are boutique-motif but much more spacious than a boutique hotel. Very easy walking distance to Anacapri, Villa San Michele, shops and restaurants. Nice variety for breakfast buffet.

The hotel was conveniently located next to Anacapri. From there you can get to the bus easily to take you all over the island. The pool is a huge bonus. The free breakfast was good and the restaurant for lunch and dinner delicious. Overall a fabulous stay.

We didnt know about the courtesy shuttle but a quick, easy taxi from the port took us up to Anacapri and the hotel. The Shuttle returned us to the port and was very convenient. The hotel was amazing, easy walk into the town of Anacapri and will stay there again!

Our stay at San Michele was unforgettable, thanks in large part to Giancarlo and Matthias, who were incredibly kind, friendly, and helpful. The views here are absolutely unparalleled. The rooms are clean, comfortable, and equipped with great AC (though opening the windows lets in a wonderful breeze that cools the room down perfectly). A few practical notes: the hotel has a working elevator, but it is quite small (fitting two to three people max, or one person with two medium bags). The pool area is pristine and beautifully maintained; while the pool isn't heated, the cooler water is incredibly refreshing during the hot summer months. Plus, the poolside snack shack means a refreshing drink or bite to eat is always within arm's reach. We already can’t wait to go back!

The property is an absolute hidden gem! The breakfast was great and had more than enough. The location was awesome and was a short walk to Anacapri. The only thing missing is the attention to detail and maintenance. It seemed a little dated and most of the property was not used to its potential. Maybe in its day it was superb but it needs some tender loving care. The pool area was not pristine and you had to pay for lounge chairs. As a guest it should have been included. The view is unbelievable and we were fortunate to have upgraded to the two room suite with a pristine view. The bar/lounge wasn’t open and parts of the hotel looked like it was just used for storage. The staff were friendly and very polite. We especially liked Bruno!! He was more than accommodating and showed us to our upgraded room. If you want convenience and on a budget, perfect for you. If you want luxury and pristine accommodations, not for you.

Beautiful building over look the sea, good location, within walking distance 5 minutes to piazza Victoria where is a transportation hub, shopping and restaurant. Chair lift to Mount Solaro also there in the Piazza. Walk another 2 minutes, reach bus stops to Blue Grotto and Faro. It is a very convenient location. Hotel also has 2 Terrance that beautiful sunset and sun rise views can be easy captured. Breakfast and resturant/bar offer breath taking sea views, over looking the Capri Marina Grande. I was very happy stayed there. Sure will come back to stay some day.

The view and location were beautiful and convenient, but this place is outdated and uncared for. I stayed in a single room, so I was not expecting the ritz, but the shower, hair dryer and mini fridge were all broken. There was a terrible smell of floral chemicals emitting from the wardrobe, and the door was so tricky to lock/unlock, i had to prop the chair under it to feel secure at night. There were awful yellow & brown stains dripping down the walls from the AC unit, and little gnat/flies. The property seemed to be really well maintained, so it’s curious why they don’t care about the sleeping quarters. I also had a terrible dinner at lanterna verde downstairs. The beef carpaccio would not cut, or chew, and the spaghetti with clams was awful. How does Italy mess up pasta!?! Even the bread was subpar. I was ill for hours after. Breakfast the next morning was just as bad, though i didn’t try much after feeling so horrible the night before. As a comparison, i stayed in a hostel in Naples the night before, so my expectations were not high at all. Staff was nice enough, but nothing spectacular. The pool area was very nice, but freezing water. Drink from the bar was good, and there were many nice places to sit. And broken marble flooring all around! Would have complained on site, but i was only there from 6pm-8am. Contacted Expedia for a refund, but the property won’t answer them! Hotel across the street has the same (nicer?) views. Go there instead!

Hotel San Michele is a gorgeous property and we loved our stay there. The hotel and the views are beautiful and the service was top notch. Easy walk to activities in Anacapri and a simple cab ride to Capri. Their breakfast and the view from the restaurant was top notch. We loved our stay.
