Wonderful stay at this hotel. Very clean room, energy efficient, nice view out the window. Awesome water pressure in the shower and great hairdryer as well! Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Perfect location. Would definitely stay again!

What a fantastic place to stay. It's in the heart of everything which makes it easy to get around the city either walking or by tram. The owners and staff are incredibly helpful and friendly. The breakfast was plentiful, varied and delicious. As noted in the hotel information, the stairs in the building are very steep (as are the stairs in many historic and lovely Amsterdam buildings). The owners and staff are ready to help you bring your luggage up to your room if needed. If I am back in Amsterdam I would definitely stay here again.

While the location of the hotel is excellent, the steep stairs were a huge concern. Being an older couple, they were almost dangerous. The stairs are also exceptionally steep. I don't recommend the hotel to elderly people or to people traveling with children. On the bright side, the staff were very friendly and the breakfast good.

The room was in a great location. We found it quiet enough even though we faced the street. Yes, the stairs are steep. The room was very very small. Smaller than a cruise ship room. It was hard for both of us to get ready at the same time bc of limited space. The shower may flood if you aren't quick. The breakfast was fine, and coffee was available all day. There is a nice area to sit outside and eat.

Very central location! But the room was not the greatest it did not match the standards in the picture. The washroom smelled like sewer it was not a pleasant smell we had to keep the door closed.

The hotel is fairly central (the Rijksmuseum is a 25-30 min walk away and the Westerkerk is 5 mins walk away) and there are plenty of shops, bars and restaurants nearby. The stairs are quite steep and I wouldn't advise tackling them after a few drinks but the staff are very friendly and the breakfast was OK. The single room I had was very small (no room to sit and relax) but I slept OK in the very narrow bed. The room was clean as were the shower and toilet. The lounge was open all day with refreshments, cakes and comfy armchairs to help you relax after a day's sightseeing. Overall good value for the money.

The location is excellent. Walkable to almost all key locations. Good restaurants & shopping within 2 blocks. Great views. Very nice breakfast. Helpful staff. You need to be able to climb a very steep, long flight of stairs to get to the hotel and another shorter steep set of stairs to the rooms. They will carry your luggage up & down the stairs for you. The rooms are clean, decent but small. Bathrooms are small as well. Overall, location is almost everything so we would come back.

The staff was very helpful and accommodating. No lift, so think about how 72 steps at a 45 degree angle feels like carrying luggage. Small ship cabin size room and bathroom but was clean, charming and adequate. Very good hospitality. I would stay again, but might not be for everyone. Seniors would not make it! Very nice lounge with balcony for coffee and breakfast. Close to everything

Very clean room and common areas, friendly staff and two resident cats at Hotel Clemens. Excellent included breakfast buffet. Good central location a little further away from the most touristy area of central Amsterdam but still walking distance to Amsterdam Centraal rail station, 2 minutes to Royal Palace and 5-7 minutes to Anne Frank House. Rooms are compact but complete. The sole challenge for those who are less mobile is the lack of an elevator and steep stairs up to the reception area and rooms in this Victorian era property.
