Friendly team, nice location, just set back far enough to not be in the noisy night life of the old town, but close enough to walk within in a few minutes. Breakfast was pretty standard, but worked for us. Rooms were a good size, plenty of space, balcony over looking the ocean was a nice touch.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Sol e Mar and would definitely come back. Service was outstanding from the moment we arrived. We got there early and our room was already ready, which made the start of the trip so much easier. The staff were friendly, helpful, and genuinely made us feel welcome. The room was clean and spacious, with a balcony and a beautiful view of the beach. Falling asleep to the sound of the sea and waking up to that view was one of the best parts of the stay. The location is hard to beat. The hotel elevator gives easy access down to the beach, and the tunnel from the beach up to the Old Town is extremely convenient. You can be on the sand one minute and in the restaurants and shops a few minutes later. Breakfast was included and truly top notch — a great selection and a lovely way to start the day. We also enjoyed the nightly entertainment in the hotel. It was a nice, relaxed way to end the evening without having to go far. Clean rooms, excellent service, a superb location, and a breakfast we looked forward to every morning. Highly recommended.

Extremely good hotel, location, decor and staff. Pool out of order during our stay and wouldn't recommend the free sister hotel pool up the road! But you do have a lovely beach tight there so not needed! Great stay

Beach umbrellas were not included and it was not at all clear in the description. Toilet paper was hard as sandpaper. Bath towels are dingy, old and hard. No tissue paper, no lotions, one bottle of water. Coffee pods that did not work. I was given a room on floor 1 with an obstructed view with two big flags blocking my view. Noisy as hell in the morning and evening with the restaurant workers dragging chairs into and out of the restaurant. Coinvent location, breakfast buffet great but beach towels require a deposit and many had holes in them. For an expensive hotel these faults should not exist. The fridge in the room is a chiller and does not do much to get the drinks cold (I was there when another guest complained about this as well). Jorge and Jorge were very informative and helpful.

Great location in Old Town. Roof top room overlooked the ocean. Room was very clean and big. The included breakfast was wonderful as we looked out on the water and beach. We were able to check in early after an overnight flight and have breakfast too. We enjoyed the adults only atmosphere. Would easily stay here again.

There's no obstruction from the hotel balcony. Perfect views of the sea and fab sunrise and sunset. I will definitely be staying here again. Staff are friendly and as a solo traveller, hotel is perfectly located for restaurants and going to the marina for day trips. Loved my stay.

The location in old town was excellent as was the amazing sea view. The staff was lovely and helpful. Unfortunately, the bed had a top sheet and no blanket/duvet. There were comforters in a closet but we had no idea if they were previously used so did not use them. The towels were subpar and had a few holes in them. Our air conditioning never really kicked in and it was hot. For location, staff and view I would stay there. Know that other things in the room are not 4 stars.

We were 6 couples traveling together and we all stayed at this hotel. Where do I start with Hotel Sol e Mar!!!!This hotel has only 2 things going for it. One is the location close to restaurants bars and shops and the other is, it’s on the beach so the views are beautiful. After that this hotel has nothing else. I would say it’s one star up from a cheap seedy motel. There was always a funky gross smell in the room. Baby cockroaches in the shower. When we went to take out a comforter at night we found a used vape rolled up in the comforter. The other comforter had a huge yellow stain on it. So we slept with just a sheet on our baby size pillows which had an unpleasant odor. The towels in the bathroom were worn out (holes) and a dingy white. The other couples experienced same issues with odor in their rooms. All their lines need better quality! Bathroom amenties are poor. One other couple found a dead rodent on their balcony on the day of our arrival others also saw cockroaches daily in their rooms! You get, upon arrival only 1 complimentary bottle or water then you have to pay for water! There’s a coffee machine in the room you only get 2 pods then after that you pay 1 euro per pod! All 6 couple are all well travelled. This is the worst hotel we have ever stayed at anywhere. We stayed 4 nights and we couldn’t wait to get out of there. Hotel Sol e Mar in the Algarve needs a major renovation. Not worth the money at all. Stay away!
