Vacations Close To Acadian Cultural Center

I have stayed in the French Quarter 5 times and this is the worst experience we have had. We had to change rooms 3 times in 3 days. Once due to keys not working (throughout our stay we had to have the keys reprogramed >10 ×'s), once due to toilet flushing continuously. The 1st room had such a strog chemical smell like someone was vaping in there. The 3rd room, which they said was their best (room 216) had a balcony door that did not close completely so you could smell people who were smoking outside, the elevator, which was around the corner, was very loud. Additionally, the volume of which you heard talking, yelling, laughing, and cars all night long made me feel as though I was actually on the street. It made it virtually impossible to sleep. We tried wearing noise cancelling head phones with music going all night but that shouldnt be necessary. All of the problems we had while we were there and not once did the staff ask or offer any type of refund or for us to speak to a manager. I will never stay here again and i will most certainly advice others to avoid it

Good

I first discovered Hotel Royal on social media when someone shared a post about its beautiful courtyard, where scenes from The Originals were filmed. When my husband and I began planning our New Orleans elopement, we knew we wanted something different from a traditional chain hotel. We were looking for a boutique experience with character, charm, and a balcony overlooking the French Quarter. Hotel Royal seemed to offer exactly that. I’ll admit that after booking, I became a little apprehensive after reading a few less-than-favorable reviews. However, those concerns disappeared once we arrived! From the moment we checked in, we were greeted warmly, given helpful instructions for accessing our room and parking, and treated wonderfully by the staff throughout our three-night stay. We had a concern with one of the chairs on our balcony, and the issue was resolved. The gentleman from maintenance who assisted us was especially helpful, offering recommendations for restaurants, entertainment, and places to catch the city’s famous second lines. His hospitality was genuinely appreciated! One of the highlights of our stay was simply spending time on our balcony. We were fortunate enough to see several parades and second lines pass by without ever leaving our room! It was such a fun and memorable part of our wedding and honeymoon experience. The location is a huge plus. We were within walking distance of everything we wanted to get to. We are already planning our trip back.
