Great hotel, large room, staff excellent. Breakfast was also excellent, fresh and lots of choice. Parking is the only downfall, they have street parking but first come forst served.

The nicest of staff. And breakfast was wonderful. Good Coffee and hot chocolate. As a guest, ask for free entrance cards in the reception for the casino. Our Suite 220 was nice and well soundproof from the Church and the shopping street. And we even stayed a Saturday in june 2026 during the Aarhus half marathon-event-circus.

Hotel Royal is a lovely mixture of old and new. Our room was huge and comfortable, but beware the corner rooms can get a lot of noise from pub visitors, cars, and church bells. The bathroom was also huge and had a nice variety of amenities, although I would’ve liked a washcloth or make up removers. The entire staff is wonderful. Christian Sindensen, in particular, was a gem. His dinner recommendations were so very good! The hotel is in a great location for shopping, eating really well, and seeing the sights. It was a wonderful stay!

I stayed for 4 nights in the Royal Superior room. Charming and vintage hotel, but definitely, not a 5 star one. It is overpriced for what it offers. Breakfast was good, but repetitive. The location was excellent, although there is noise from the nearby restaurants and night clubs. A noise canceling set of headphones will be very helpful at night. FYI: A 1000 kr deposit will be held on arrival for the minibar.

The hotel was beautiful, old world style. The staff were all wonderfully helpful, knowledgeable and friendly. Loved the unique old elevator. The bathroom in the room needed deep cleaning and updates. The tub water was either scalding or very warm, no other temperatures. The tile grout was mildewed. The drain between 2 sinks flooded the room if too much water was run (once from washing my face and once from trying to cool bathtub water) with a cup. The bed was comfortable. Lighting very difficult to figure out. We turned off the switch and they would turn off and then back on. We sent out clothes with the laundry (expensive like all of Scandinavia) and they did not come back until 8;30 at night. We loved the people, but not our best hotel stay.

Beautiful hotel - so well appointed with great classic features retained in the building - loved the vintage lift! The rooms were so comfy and loved the molten brown toiletries! Location could not be better. Very nice room ( suite) clean and with great service from across members of staff. Strongly recommend getting a room facing the square or the inner courtyard as opposed to the rooms facing the street with cafes and bars.
