“Could not be happier about my 2 days stay at Rakucho ryokan. The room was perfect: clean, quiet, the futon super confortable and the showers/toilets clean and surprisingly quite modern. “This is a very local non touristy village. We enjoyed the hospitality (even if we couldn’t communicate) The owner helped accomadate my sea food allergy. We really liked the hot bath available in the beautiful water. The only thing I would say is that it isn’t close to anything and you have to walk about 22 minutes to the train ”

“This is the perfect place for an authentic Japanese experience. The staff are wonderful and the meals are superb. Tranquil surroundings with a 5 star multi-course meals each day for breakfast and dinner. The sauna and hot baths were great for winding down after a day of touring. Touring was easy because bus lines and train lines are nearby. We were sorry to leave the Tea House and really hope to return some day. ”

“We have stayed at Koiya (which means small Koifish) for 6 days and couldn't have made a better choice. It is not only a very beautiful traditional Machiya (japanese style wooden house) but also offered a very friendly experience all around.
