Amazing place. So clean. I highly recommend.

The 2 star hotel is fine. There is a friendly cat that I enjoyed seeing and appreciated that the hotel has a pet. The room was very small, but adequate for me. The owl decor is cute. Most of the staff are good - they have shortages of ice, but have a fridge they can store cold things in. The directions they offer are limited, rushed and they don't like giving them. I enjoyed the outdoor seating area with flowers, wild parrots flying around, etc., but sadly, there were smokers ruining the atmosphere for the nonsmokers. It is nice that use of the 24/7 coffee machine is free and that there is 24/7 front desk staff.

Hotel Posthoorn was a highlight of our trip. Located in the charming town of Monnickendam, it offers an authentic Dutch experience away from the crowds. The town is quaint, welcoming, and easy to explore, with exceptionally clean and efficient public transportation making travel simple. The hotel exceeded expectations. The accommodations were elegant, comfortable, and impeccably maintained. The staff were outstanding—friendly, professional, and genuinely accommodating. A special thank you to Sara, whose warmth and attentiveness made our stay especially memorable. For the quality of the rooms, service, and location, the cost was absolutely worth it. The only drawback was breakfast. While fresh and well-prepared, the selection felt limited for the price. More protein options and fresh vegetables would greatly improve the experience beyond the breads, cold cuts, and omelets offered. One travel tip: wait until you arrive before booking excursions. Giethoorn, while picturesque, felt overrated and required nearly two hours of travel each way for a short canal ride. Instead, visit nearby Edam and Volendam. The Edam Cheese Museum is fascinating, and Volendam is perfect for strolling the harbor, exploring the streets, and taking the ferry. Overall, Hotel Posthoorn provides exceptional accommodations, outstanding service, and an ideal base for exploring a beautiful and authentic part of the Netherlands.

Great location, great hotel. The room we had was not cleaned properly. Someone had cooked with oil and the floor was all sticky and gross. After letting management know, they said it would be cleaned. Unfortunately, it was not cleaned. So cleanliness was not good at all. Great breakfast, lots of options. The restaurant says it closes at 11pm and we went at 9:50pm and they said the kitchen was closed and no food could be ordered. So maybe the restaurant has updated hours or knowing when the kitchen closes. Front desk staff were so incredible. Helpful, kind, genuine. Good hotel overall.
