Le Mans, wonderful stop over

A very warm welcome with professional bilingual staff. We ate in the restaurant, the food was sublime, the waiting staff and sommelier were very efficient, also very nice to deal with, it could not have been better

Dette pragtfulde sted kan kun anbefales. Vi havde desværre kun en overnatning, men stedet er simpelthen vidunderligt smukt. Det kan helt klart anbefales. Super service hvor hotellet ændrede et værelse fra dobbeltseng til 2 enkelt senge, da vi var 2 venner på vej til 24 timers Le Mans løbet, og bestilte 1 time før vi ankom. Super service.

Stay in an 18th century chateau. Restful, lovely.

We discovered this place after a day exploring the Loire Valley Chateaux. What a find. Elegant and historic, an 18th century chateau set on a peaceful estate with a lovely breakfast room, this was the perfect place to rest and rejuvenate after a long day.

We stayed here during a 2 week French road trip and it was the worst hotel we stayed. We arrived at check in and the reception was very basic. We were merely given our key and told we had a room in an out-building called the orangery. We asked about breakfast (as the website said it was available at extra cost) to be told it was not available! We were not asked if we wanted an evening meal in the restaurant (just as well as the prices were extortionate) just given our key. We got to our room and it was tiny and nothing like the pictures on the website. You had to go sideways to get down the side of the bed! The room was tired with odd curtain fixings and the wardrobe was hidden by one curtain, although there should obviously have been two. We eat n town! Next morning at 9.05 we were greeted with drilling and banging right outside our door, I actually thought someone was breaking in it was so loud. It turned out they were putting new door furniture on the exit door next to hours. I know 9am is fairly late, but as we had no breakfast available to get up for we were taking the opportunity to have a lay in! The noise went on for over an hour and we decided to checkout and leave. Handed the key back to reception and was not asked anything about our stay, when I said about the noise the receptionist just shrugged her shoulders and went back on her computer. Their receptionists obviously don’t receive customer service training? All in all very very disappointed.

Juste pour une nuit, nous n'avons pu profiter des charmes du parc. La chambre était parfaite, suite familliale confortable. Le restaurant est à la hauteur de l'hotel, une cuisine haut de gamme, servie par un personnel très attentionné C'est un sans faute.

Lovely room in coach house on ground floor but unfortunately no window, only a door, on hottest day of year. It was changed to a room with a window immediately. They were very helpful and understanding and the bed was very comfortable.

After booking, Call the Hotel Front desk...

Book through the Hotel if you want to stay in the CHATEAU. I found out the hard way, that there are no indications of other buildings that you could be designated in. I am a descendant of the original owners before the war and I came to stay in the Chateau to research and walk where my ancestors walked. I was put in the renovated building which was originally a horse stable. The Hotel Manager was nice enough to get us in the Chateau the second night. Rooms were very nice and comfortable.

Beautiful chateau in lovely surroundings. Our room was in the Orangerie, small but perfectly formed! We had dinner and breakfast in the chateau, delicious if slightly pricey.

Restaurant very good, top class but quite pricy. No other option to eat and not walking distance to anywhere else. Lovely bar, would be perfect if they did bar snacks. Will definitely go again en route to Spain.

My wife left several items of clothing in our room closet after we had checked out and which we did not notice until we were miles away from the hotel. We called the hotel and they promised to send the clothes to our next address. They arrived safely within a couple of days. we were very impressed. Overall the hotel staff was very efficient and industrious. We would like to single out Marjorie at the from desk who was extremely pleasant and helpful.

Perfect location close for seeing the race

We wanted to see Test Day at Circuit de la Sarthe on June 4, 2017. The proximity to the track is excellent also to the town of Le Mans. Having spent most of our stay in Paris, we were not prepared for visiting "France" meaning there are not so many tourists and consequently dining is more of a challenge. In Paris you can eat anytime. In Le Mans the dining hours are more traditional. The grounds surrounding the chateau are beautiful. The service is great. Everyone is really friendly. The restaurant is $$$. Air conditioning is not available. Bring a streaming device that can be plugged into an outlet or a portable charger. The television is located far from an outlet for the streaming device. or you can just wander the grounds.
