We had a pleasant stay. The room was clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed for a short visit. It's a simple, no-frills place with basic amenities, but it delivered exactly what we expected. The breakfast was good, with a nice selection to start the day, and the overall experience was great value for money. One thing worth noting for international travellers is that air conditioning isn't a standard amenity in many UK hotels, so it's always worth checking before you book if that's important to you. Also, don't assume there will be a bar fridge in the room, as refrigerators are not commonly provided either. Overall, if you're looking for a clean, comfortable, and affordable place to stay in a good location without the extras, this is a solid choice.

Very good location to explore the wonderful city of York, minutes away from Micklegate Bar. Bruberrie café directly over the road is the perfect breakfast spot, we sampled every morning of our stay. And Valentino's also across the road, is a lovely Italian restaurant for our last evening meal.

The ibis hotel in York was in a good location, within walking distance to everything. The hotel was very quiet and the rooms were nicely updated and well kept. The staff at the front desk were great and very helpful. I didn't us the breakfast so cannot comment on that.
