The hotel is in an excellent location near Micklegate and only a 5-10 minute gentle stroll into the town centre. There are a host of restaurants and pubs in the immediate locale. Whilst we didn’t eat at the hotel, the room was spacious and furnished to a high standard. The staff were uniformly friendly and helpful.

Really good value for money. A very stylish room at a very good price. The surrounding area is a bit ashore and it would have been really useful to know about the blocked walking route from the train station which meant I arrived 45 mins later than expected because I got lost in the dark. Good location but we had to ask for a room clean due to the black hair in the bathroom and over the carpet in the bedroom. The bathroom door didn't fully close. We kept the curtains closed as there was a balconey opposite that looked in, and when someone walked overhead the floor creaked- a lot (age of property) Where the hotel shines are the reception, bar and (especially) the breakfast and restaurant staff. Friendly, informative and efficient. Both breakfast and an evening meal were delicious. We managed to park at the hotel and despite there being a wedding we were not bothered by party noise.
