Absolute gem of a B&B near the Minster

Absolute gem of a B&B near the Minster. I traveled with a friend from the US so she could see York. The B&B is ideally situated a short walk from the city walls and York Minster. It never felt too far to walk back from the city attractions, but it was far enough out of the centre to be quiet and feel safe. The room was spacious, immaculately clean, and comfortable. The staff are lovely. Nothing was too much to ask. Very accommodating; great communication. Don't be put off by the self-check in after 4 pm. It's very easy.

Perfectly situated hotel within walking distance of the train station and the city centre. Very quiet street and the hotel itself is beautifully decorated. Breakfast was top notch too and the staff were super friendly. 10/10

It was a greally lovely stay. the place was really sweet and beautifully decorated. The staff were really lovely and attentive. Arriving early was no problem for us and we could drop our bags off etc etc so they were great. The location was excellent and you could walk into the centre of town within 5-10 mins! The cleanliness of the place was impressive. I loved how clean it was. We were on the top floor. The only issue was the quietness. I say quietness because it was not really noisy. The house was old, so you could hear the floors creaks and the pipes a little bit We are light sleepers so we struggled a little bit.

The room was clean and had all the advertised amenities. Unfortunately when we stayed it was very warm and the windows only vented a little so there was no cross ventilation. The fan helped, but it was uncomfortable. The stairs were also very narrow up to the third floor and hard to navigate with large suitcases.

Weekend trip

Room was lovely and very clean. Although bedroom was relatively small, had a nice sized bathroom with a big shower. Only suggestion would to check the radiator in bathroom works as we couldn't get it to turn on despite other radiators working, making the bathroom quite cold!

Charming Guesthouse in York

Previous reviews pointed to the wonderful hospitality of the proprietors and the delicious breakfasts: both elements scored very high ratings from this guest, too! A short walk away from the Minster, this place was both quiet and convennnnient for all that I wanted to do and see in visiting this old city.

So close to down town-we walked into town that evening and the next day as well. Lovely hosts were so helpful! Such a convenient location! When we cked out the next morning we just parking in the pay parking lot close to accommodations. It was safe and we felt comfortable leaving our car all day.

A Fabulous Find in York

Beautiful three storey bed and breakfast accommodation within easy walking distance of York's attractions; there is also a car park nearby. We were attending a concert in the Museum Gardens and it was the most perfect location within a few minutes walk. Our room was extremely comfortable and we loved the little honesty tuck shop to purchase nibbles. Breakfast was delicious and all the staff were very welcoming and super friendly. A fabulous find and we will definitely book again.

Cosy hotel. The fire alarm went off in the evening and it took half an hour before the owner came to the hotel and had no explenation why it went off. The water heater for tea was very dirty and not recomended to use.
