Cosy old inn with a lovely atmosphere. Room was nice with a great walk-in shower. Friendly staff, great food and dog friendly. Perfect location for exploring Dartmoor. Would happily return.

The inn is steeped in history and in a remote, quiet spot. Unfortunately our room had been left with unsightly water marks as a result of a leaking roof (which has been fixed) all over the ceiling, especially above the bed, and wall. It made the room look very shabby and for the price not great value. The floating floor feels like it’s a sinking floor in some spots and you need to tread lightly. The bathroom is modern and spacious. The staff were lovely, very welcoming and friendly.

Fabulous Dartmoor Inn

A beautiful old Dartmoor Inn in a very pretty village location. Terrific range of local ales and ciders and great food. Lovely walk in shower, but needs a corner shelf for toiletries. Paintwork needs touching up in places, but, overall, a wonderful, comgortanle plce to stay.

A very old public house but with modern facilities in very old rooms. Good cask beers on tap. Very nice. Friendly staff, parking on site and a good full English breakfast

Lovely staff, very helpful in finding us a cab which seem to be as rare as hen’s teeth in that area! Nice room, clean and comfortable. Very nice atmosphere in the bar and excellent breakfast; perfectly poached eggs! Would recommend but you do need to have a car.

Wonderful staff and place to stay.

This is a 17th century pub so it has all the quirks of that. If you want the modern bathroom of a hotel then this isn't for you but if you want a night in a 17th-century pub then it's absolutely perfect! The staff are friendly, the food is good and the bed is comfortable. It was a perfect place to stop over.
