The staff were incredible. There was a slight problem with the water (it wasn’t their fault) and they were quick to find a solution for my wife & I. We decided to extend our stay for one more night. The hotel’s architecture is breathtaking—a true masterpiece that seamlessly blends luxury, comfort, and the immersive experience of living in the jungle. We especially enjoyed the breakfast menu, which features a rich variety of flavors and local ingredients. Every detail in the room design and amenities reflects thoughtful craftsmanship and is perfectly integrated into the overall aesthetic. The elevated walkway leading to the lagoon is an incredible idea, allowing access while preserving the ecosystem and minimizing disturbance to the local flora and fauna. The hotel also has a private dock that connects directly to the lagoon. We loved how secluded it felt—it offers a peaceful space to swim, sunbathe, and relax. There's even a shaded area by the water where you can retreat from the sun and unwind in comfort.

Definitly a great stay!

A unique stay in Bacalar, definitely worth it. Away from the town, nestled in the serene jungle without distractions and crystal clear water down at the lagoon. We took a tour from Bacalar itself on a sailboat, however nice it was we’d probably choose to just stay at the hotel next time - the grounds really are that beautiful. Good to know that wifi is a bit unstable (we hade some issues when trying to pay our taxidriver).

Pros: Staff were very nice and helpful whenever asked. All employees went out of their way to assist us. The lagoon area was picturesque and serene. Food was generally good. Cons: Hotel is very expensive by local standards (equivalent or better hotels in the area are less than half the cost). Getting to the hotel requires a long drive from the highway on a poorly paved road and any transportation in or out of the hotel to the nearest town was $500 MXN each way so you were somewhat stranded at the resort. Food options at the resort were very expensive compared to local restaurants. No fitness center. Summary: Pretty hotel with good service but very overpriced (both for the room and for any food purchased) and isolated (expensive to leave the resort).

Mi estancia fue muy agradable. El diseño del hotel es precioso y realmente logra que conectes con la naturaleza y desconectes de la tecnología. Las habitaciones son muy bonitas y están bien integradas con el entorno, además de que las actividades permiten disfrutar de la fauna y la tranquilidad del lugar, haciendo la experiencia única. El personal del hotel y del restaurante fue siempre muy amable y atento, y la comida fue espectacular, uno de los aspectos que más disfrutamos durante la estancia. Como áreas de oportunidad, considero que la regadera podría tener mayor privacidad, ya que mi habitación estaba cerca de otra villa y del restaurante, por lo que no me sentía completamente cómoda. También noté que la recámara principal tenía poca iluminación debido a los árboles y a la luz tenue del cuarto, lo que dificultaba leer o realizar otras actividades, como los juegos de mesa. Además, sería un gran detalle incluir una cafetera en la habitación para disfrutar un café o té mientras se aprecia el entorno. Finalmente, sugeriría revisar la información publicada en las plataformas de reservación, ya que en mi caso el desayuno aparecía como incluido, pero al llegar al hotel nos informaron que no era así. Más que un problema con el personal, fue una confusión derivada de la información mostrada. En general, fue una experiencia muy bonita y recomendaría el hotel a quienes buscan descansar y conectar con la naturaleza.

Si lo que quieres es dormir y descansar para recargar pilas, este NO es el hotel que debes venir. Los cuartos no tienen cortinas. Agua caliente solo por 4 minutos. La alberca del cuarto helada. Nos devoraron los moscos porque es la época. Todas las mañanas un señor te despierta a las 7am con una máquina podadora de pasto.

El lugar es muy bonito y la laguna es verdaderamente divina. Sin embargo, el servicio deja mucho que desear. Reservamos con anticipación el traslado al aeropuerto y, un día antes de nuestra llegada, confirmamos si todo estaba listo; para nuestra sorpresa, no tenían registro de nuestra llegada. Además, nos cobraron el servicio de pickup como si fuera en camioneta, pero pasaron por nosotros en un taxi. En el área de la laguna hay muy pocos camastros. Al notar que los de la alberca estaban vacíos, solicitamos si podíamos utilizarlos y nos lo negaron. El servicio de alimentos en la laguna también fue muy deficiente; en una ocasión esperamos hasta dos horas por una cerveza. Al finalizar nuestra estancia, detectamos cargos incorrectos: nos cobraron alimentos más IVA, cuando en el menú se especifica claramente que los precios ya lo incluyen. Asimismo, el tour que contratamos con ellos tuvo un sobrecargo de $2,000 pesos adicionales a lo que previamente nos habían informado. Intentamos aclararlo vía WhatsApp, pero nunca recibimos respuesta. Es un lugar muy lindo, pero está lejos de ofrecer el nivel de servicio que justificaría una Llave Michelin.
