The studio rooms were fabulous our party had 3 of these rooms. Large beds, settee and casual chair in each studio, fabulous bathrooms with lovely quality toiletries.

We liked the age and setting of the building, the grounds and the dining. It was especially nice to have such a large terrace from our room, and all the staff were very helpful.

You pull into the drive and go wow, the building and grounds were great. The staff are friendly and helpful. We had one issue when it came to dining in the first evening we wanted something off the bar menu and was told we had to eat in the bar even though the restaurant wasnt overly busy. It didn't make for a pleasure experience trying to eat with other drinking around us. The service was slow and what made it more annoying overhearing the bar staff talking about how its important to give a quality of service as those staying were paying so much money and then forgetting us. We did plan to eat there on our second evening but was so disappointed we eat at Deben Seal 5 minutes down the road which was exceptional, fantastic staff and quality food. As for the room it was clean and tidy, bathroom needs a little attention especially around the silicone on the bath. Plugs are a little problem to as my wife struggled getting ready whilst sat at the dressing table. Staff at breakfast were so helpful and it was great breakfast. Overall great location full of character just let down by the dining experience and made to feel forgotten because we eat at the bar and not restaurant.

Fab stay

Fabulous stay for three friends. The room was lovely and clean and the hotel staff were very nice. Breakfast was food but the evening food was incredible. The spa was fabulous and i had a wonderful facial Would highlt recommend

A beautiful, elegant hotel and spa steeped in hist

Wow. Seckford Hall has become my wife and mines favourite place to stay in this country for a special occasion. The building is utterly beautiful, full of class and elegance, and encourages you to relax and be together. The new owner is fantastic and really took the time to welcome, chat with us, and clearly takes real pride in the hotel and it's history. The spa is stunning, it's small, quiet and intimate, but with lovely facilities, and really feels like have escaped life. The restaurant is also great, with lovely food. All the staff we interacted with were really friendly and helpful. We cannot recommend this place enough, and we will be returning.

Historic hotel with some modern attributes. The room (6) was spacious with a good king size bed, but was directly over the kitchens and, with the windows open during summer, there was a fair amount of noise. Since it was a weekend, there were weddings on so the catering staff were working late. The following morning after breakfast we did find the toilets downstairs had been left in a pretty filthy state by the wedding guests, so the cleaners had not yet started their work. The staff were all really helpful and considerate. The food was well prepared and tasty. It was nice to wander around the lake in the grounds but we did find a smell of drains on the golf course side. It appeared this may be coming from the mobile buildings in the back car park. We asked about plugging our car in to the sockets near the front door for an overnight charge but we were told they couldn’t handle an electric car load. This is unlikely to be a problem. They did say there were plans to install car chargers.

Lovely weekend in suffolk

Lovely old historic hotel . Enjoyed our stay in lovely surroundings . The courtyard was nice to sit and relax in and have a drink . Rooms were very comfortable just lacking a fridge for cold drinks . The only gripes were trying to eat the first night in the courtyard and young staff weren't clear on what was available so had to eat elsewhere . And on arrival reception staff told us our rooms were upstairs and watched us walk off in wrong direction without explaining where the stairs were . But overall we had a lovely stay .

Beautiful historic hotel

Lovely building and grounds. We didn't eat in the evening at the hotel as they were short staffed and not offering the bar menu and the restaurant was full - breakfast was very good though. The town of Woodbridge is very close and has a great choice of restaurants. Only slight disappointment during our stay was the limited opening hours of the gym/spa. We like to workout in the mornings before breakfast but the gym didn't open till 10am. Overall a lovely place to stay and we will return!

Looks lovely from outside but room was small, curtains falling down so didn’t even cover the window to block out light. Room was clean and lovely ESPA products in bathroom. Comfy bed, just small.

Good alternative to chain hotels

This was a business stay. I prefer alternative or independent hotels with character and this pne met that criteria. I booked however based on the fact it advertised having a gym. The staff, after asking twice, informed it was closed for the foreseeable future. That was disappointing and if it is closed they should update what they advertise
